About Nowhere Road

A Nostalgic Journey Through 1998

The war has been over for six years, and the world is finally breathing again. Step into a lo-fi driving experience that celebrates the slow, steady pace of life. There is no hunger, no thirst, and no pressure—just the open road, the changing sky, and the hum of your engine. Whether the sun warms your dashboard or moonlight guides your way, the city is yours to navigate.

The Rhythm of the City: Day & Night

Experience a living world that shifts with time:
  • Golden Hours: Spend your days navigating the streets, fulfilling delivery contracts, and managing your routine under the sun.
  • Midnight Serenity: When the sun goes down, the city takes on a poetic silence. Pick up late-night passengers, listen to their stories, or simply drive through the misty glow of streetlights.

Build, Donate, and Grow

Every mile you drive has a purpose:
  • Drive to Earn: Take on simple taxi jobs or transport essential goods at your own pace—no timers, no rush.
  • A Heart for the City: Use your profits to donate to charities or reinvest in your own company to unlock new opportunities.
  • The Collector’s Garage: Save up to unlock 3 different vehicles, each with its own driving feel.

Peace of Mind

It’s not about staying alive; it’s about staying balanced:
  • Nurture Your Spirit: Keep your sanity high by taking intentional breaks. Enjoy a simple meal, pull over to appreciate the view, or just breathe.
  • A Pure Experience: Minimalist UI, atmospheric sound, and peaceful streets—just you, your car, and a world finally at peace.

Take the Wheel

Hit the road and explore the city at your own pace. Let every mile tell a story, and find your own rhythm behind the wheel.

I like this idea, but I don't suggest buying this game now. It feels like this isn't a real game, but a memory from nowhere. This "city," those hyperbolic cooling towers, transmission towers, and Khrushchevka all caught me and threw me into a weird time and place. The city is somehow familiar; I have been to many places like it, such as the motorway from Prague to Dresden in winter, which is almost the same as the main road in the game. This game has a typical Eastern European or former USSR vibe. I sincerely recommend the game designer add a sea and an offshore platform; then this city would become a destroyed alter-Baku. I thought I would find some fallen statues of Marx, like those shown in the movie *Good Bye, Lenin!*, or other great figures, but I didn't. Maybe this game is all about a taxi driver, not the fall of a city or country. But when actually playing, I found many problems. The car is annoying: you need to release the handbrake, start the engine, shift gears, and then start driving my little white car. Also, I can only drive on the main road and the snow-covered land, and I can't find any tasks. If the designer wants to make a hardcore driving game, there should be …

I know it's a cheap one and intended to be a simple game, but games like Easy Delivery Co, which is a few dollars more expensive manage to build some nice atmosphere, good music, and so on. This one, not even environment sound has. No sound of wind or steps. Nothing. Just the car engine sound. Not even a proper menu to exit the game. Looks more like a small demos of someone learning to make games for fun, and nothing against it, but charge for that? Nope.

Right. I was bored this one evening, and randomly saw this game on sale. It looked nice, so I got it. I spent like 20 minutes to get a first impression, and now I'm here to share it: The game itself seems to be in a very early stage, as the map is pretty small, and there's not many things to do. You can either cruise and explore the small, yet nice map (which is giving me post-soviet vibes a bit), or you can become a taxi driver and ship passengers. Or you can deliver cargo. That's pretty much all you can do. The gameplay itself is alright. The driving mechanics are very unique and funny at first, but you'll get used to them after 5 minutes. There's a few cars to choose from, and apparently each one handles different. I did not have the chance to drive them all, but I'd guess it won't be such a difference. To sum it up, the game has very big potential, but if you want to get it, I'd recommend you to wishlist it and wait some time until new things get added. It's not bad, but it will get repetitive after 30 minutes. I will definetly be checking on this game to see the updates and stuff, but I probably won't be playing it often. If you really want to give it a shot, though, go on…

There really isn't a lot here yet. I went in expecting a cozy road trip game in the style of Long Drive, Jalopy, or Easy Delivery Co., but this isn't that. Currently the map is extremely small with only three or four relatively close groups of drop off/pick up points which you travel between. The only thing that extends the drive is a small "city" area that's surrounded by a massive ditch with only one spot that allows you to get in and out of it. The map is also fairly empty which makes exploring rather pointless. There's also quite a few structures whose hitboxes extended far beyond the actual model (Pipelines and Power Plant Silos) which cause your car to come to a complete stop if you get too close. Could there be a game here eventually? Sure, but it's going to take a lot more work.
