About Ouroboros

Ouroboros presents a bright, cheerful world in which something is horrifyingly wrong. The hero has a princess to save and a quest set before him, but there are unsettling signs that all this has happened before. As you play the game, you'll come to realize that the dungeons and monsters are meaningless distractions from the task of uncovering the truth.

An unorthodox RPG with time travel mechanics and the ability to manipulate events down multiple alternate paths. The combat is quick and fun - with no character levels, there's no need to grind! Instead you'll gain new strategies and techniques as you uncover deeper levels of the story and get closer to the truth at the heart of it all.

Features

 • Meta RPG with time travel mechanics
 • No grinding whatsoever
 • Enemies are visible and avoidable
 • 5+ hours of gameplay
 • 12+ scenes, 50+ images

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's creative time-loop concept and how it smartly deconstructs JRPG tropes, with well-written characters and clever meta-awareness that avoids tedious repetition. However, the story feels incomplete like an early chapter, and opinions are divided on the adult content—some find it integral while others view it as unnecessary padding around the core narrative.

A great story about loops. Decent scenes and gameplay loop.

Not bad, but story unfinished. It look like end of chapter 1.

8/10. Super simple, vanilla RPGMaker assets and somewhat middling/amateurish CG art shouldn't turn away from what is ultimately a very intriguing game. The core principle of a time loop has been done before but very rarely wth this level of genre awareness. The characters get annoyed with parts of the tedium and very quickly skip over it just like a player would want, the system can be manipulated because outcomes are known, in general it really ran with its concept. I had a lot of fun with it.

Ouroboros is:

A satire and deconstruction of JRPG and RPG Maker tropes.
An interesting take on "time loop" stories.
An exploration of topics like: What would you do if you could just "reset" everything? How could you stay sane living countless lives?
A bunch of interesting and funny conversations between well-written characters.
An adult game—the kind where you can download a patch to make it REALLY adult.
Highly recommended.
The decision to start in the middle of an established loop and let players figure out how to break it was inspired. Short but good. Unlike TLS, the adult content is kind of unnecessary.

Well, what can I say but that it's a game about Sierra Lee. Let's not mince words, it's a horny beyond ♥♥♥♥ game surrounded by an actual story. Same dev as last Sovereign, that should say everything. Some people like it, I most certainly don't.
