About Outrealm
Slumbering deep within the nether, lies the mysterious creature known as the Void King. His dreams are the essence that connects our world to reality. All planes exist within his mind, cogs in a machine none can comprehend. Often, his dreams are pleasant, bringing light to everything he touches. But when his dreams are dark, the nightmares that plague his mind run wild through forgotten realms. Step into his dream and explore that which is the Void King's nightmare.
Outrealm is a top-down roguelike hack and slash title. It combines traditional hack and slash gameplay with modern-day roguelike mechanics.
Each realm has a required kill count to activate the portal there, increasing in each successive level. However as time passes, monsters grow in strength and resilience. To survive, you'll have to constantly rack up kill count and loot to become stronger.
Traverse varied worlds, from rain-drenched highlands to mushroom-filled catacombs. Each realm comes with it's own unique enemies and mechanics.
There are seven playable characters with their own playstyle and specialist moves which set them apart from the rest. The first character unlocked is the Blade Master, an all-rounder designed for old-school Zelda players to pick up and play. However, characters such as the Boreal Hunter and Smasher are designed for advanced players.
There are eighty different items to loot within the game. Items come in chests spread throughout the realms, sometimes in plain sight, sometimes hidden. Items have many different effects, from increasing your raw damage, to providing defense boons, giving crowd control effects or triggering an attack.
As you play, you'll collect achievements which in turn unlock new items and characters. There are also Item and Monster logs which fill in as you loot more and defeat monsters.
With seven different playable characters, six vibrant worlds, eighty items to loot and over twenty achievements, Outrealm has plenty for the roguelike enthusiast to sink their teeth into.

Essentially Dungeon souls with less to do. Not terrible, can tell some love went into it.5 found this helpful
A solid hack-and-slash game with some roguelite and MOBA influences
Outrealm is a fun little action game that draws inspiration from games like Risk of Rain and The Binding of Isaac. You play as one of multiple classes, each with their own unique abilities and advantages. The goal is to traverse through multiple realms to reach an evil ruler, the Void King, to stop the endless hordes of monsters that plague the lands. The mechanics of the game are easy to get into and understand. Like in Risk of Rain, each character has different skills that make their gameplay different from the other, with cooldowns that balance each other's strengths. Also, along the way, items add passive abilities to your repertoire, which all help you survive. As time goes on, enemies spawn in increasing regularity and in number, and you also have to kill a certain amount each level in order to spawn the boss to reach the next realm. The game has solid design, as difficulty increases at a reasonable rate for new players to adjust to. The game really only suffers from aesthetics. The art isn't detailed, and as far as visual clarity goes, there's not a lot to differenti…4 found this helpful
https://greenlightarcade.com/game/outrealm currently offering 20% discount. SHAMELESS KEYBOARD MASHERS, THIS GAME IS FOR YOU! For those gamers with actual skill, I would recommend experimenting with the more challenging modes. Work your way through the levels and locate the loot chests (some are hidden). They will lend a multitude of colourful abilites to your character which will come in handy for the boss fights!2 found this helpful
***Risk of Dreaming*** Played about 100 minutes and this is my take. Graphics (6.5-7/10): Obviously pixel graphics, but we know what we came here for. Solid for the design, but nothing to write home about. You can tell some love went into it though, so I'll rate it a bit above average. Characters (7/10): Simplistic three ability set up for each character, with a passive that interacts with the other three abilities. Multiple characters each with at least some variance/nuance to their design and abilities. Music/Score (8/10): Sometimes quaint, occasionally atmospheric and always appropriate to the level themes. I think this was one of the stronger elements of Outrealm. Gameplay (7.5/10): Devs kept it snappy by including a fast paced gameplay with automatic leveling similar to Risk of Rain (which this game is at least somewhat inspired by). While playing you can pick up chests that give you a binary one or the other type choice, or automatically generated items via totems. The items are unique enough to feel meaningful and do affect your gameplay significantly. Would be improved by allowing the mouse to be used as one of the attack or ability buttons. Story (8/10): S…
You won't like it after 5 minutes. No, I won't tell you why - the devs aren't getting my feedback for free after they took my money.
