Paint Girl is a clicker disguised as a creative painting game, with tedious drawing mechanics that involve following strict paths and repeatedly clicking rather than offering genuine artistic freedom. While players appreciate the cute anime-style artwork and visual presentation, they criticize the lack of meaningful interaction, the requirement of paid DLC to achieve 100% completion, and the overall shallow gameplay that becomes boring quickly.

Paint Girl is a niche but thoughtfully focused creative simulation that places artistic interaction at the center of its design. Developed and published by AFOG, the game deliberately distances itself from traditional gameplay structures such as objectives, difficulty curves, or narrative progression. Instead, it positions itself as a digital canvas where players can relax, experiment, and engage with anime-style artwork through coloring and visual customization. The result is an experience that feels closer to an interactive art toy than a conventional video game, appealing primarily to players who value creativity and visual expression over challenge or competition. At its core, Paint Girl revolves around coloring detailed line-art illustrations of anime-style characters. Players are provided with a selection of tools and color palettes that allow them to fill in characters freely, experimenting with different tones, highlights, and visual combinations. The controls are intentionally simple, making the process accessible even to those with no prior experience in digital art. Rather than overwhelming players with complex layers or technical options, the game emphasizes immediacy …
I don’t dislike the game, but I can’t fully recommend it.
To achieve 100% of the achievements, you need the paid DLC and the free patch. With these, it’s possible to complete everything in less than an hour. The pen-drawing mechanic is tedious, as you essentially follow a strict track, which becomes boring very quickly. There’s an auto-draw bar that fills slowly and can be executed and trust me, you’ll want to use it. I really would have preferred more freedom in drawing the lines, perhaps with a percentage-based accuracy system for progress. After that, you use a fill bucket to splash color onto the image, filling in the clicked areas. Here too, I would have appreciated much more player interaction. Finally, you apply a roll-down effect that adds highlights and details. This step is completed with a single mouse movement. Once finished, the images transform into a Live2D animation, which are decent. You can then view interactive scenes based on the characters in the gallery. Due to the strict limitations imposed on the gameplay, this feels more like a gimmicky app for your phone than an actual engaging game. The highest discount for the game and its DLC so fa…
The game is fine enough. The drawing can be tedious as the mouse is sometimes not properly detected, but the girls are cute and the scenes are pretty hot over all :dappershark:
"You expected this to be a painting game? Too bad! It was me, a clicking game!" At first, the game give you the illusion of choice that you can draw and paint the girl with your own choice. However, everything is just clicking game and there is not much gameplay in the end. For the H scene, it is extremely short and only penetration scene is animated. Would not recommend to get it at full price.
I though you could really draw the girls, but no, you just click on the brush and direct it in one direction or another. When "you" finish drawing a line you need to re click on the brush to move it again. Quite boring. Especially when you have to make very small lines. The art when drawing is cute and the CGs are really nice. But can't get all the achievements without buying the dlc. Sad.
