Palpus X Annihilation

It's something between Alien shooter 1 and Alien shooter 2 in both style and gameplay dynamics, but I did not like it - Horrible perfomance. For what it is it should give 450 fps instead of 45 - Copypasted monster design from alien shooter - Glitchy physics - Monsters spawning out of nowhere right unrer your feet, if you are not precicely where developer intended at the time - Music tracks are short looped music sequences, which becomes noticeable quickly - Visual style is not very good - Why introduce ammo, if you never run out of it? - Achievements based on killing every single enemy in level? Considering some leftover enemies can spawn lazily and you just move on - Enemy that digs itself under the ground and, after 10 minutes of absense, randomly pops out of the ground right in front of you - is very annoying

My initial reaction to first playing this game was "Oh hey, it's an Alien Shooter inspired game! That's cool." But after playing a few stages, yeah it's an Alien Shooter inspired game on the surface, but it doesn't have the charm, just the shooting. It's not a bad game, but it gets a little repetitive and boring after a while as there's no dialog. just "there be aliens. Kill 'em." I think I've just been spoiled by Alien Shooter: Vengence (aka Alien Shooter 2, or the only available rendition of it now being "Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded") with its storied campaign. All-in-all, not a bad game if you just want a simple isometric horde shooter that kills time.

This review goes for every Alien Shooter, one of the first games I ever played ;) As for Palpus X Annihilation - It manages to recreate the same feeling as old Alien Shooter did, only more modern, smooth gameplay. Music is also top tier for the gameplay just like the old games. Thank you Sebastian!
