Dear Jenny,

I don't know where you are but write you this letter in the hope that you might return home.

Water and food supplies are running low and I have to leave Riverlake. I haven't slept in what seems like ages - I try and shut my eyes but I keep hearing strange noises outside.

The streets echo with desperate screams and it's too dangerous to be out for long. There are crazy people running around, attacking anyone in sight - it's like they are infected with some sort of virus.

I watched one of them stand up not long after he was shot multiple times in the chest. It's surely only a matter of time before the infected come bursting through the door here.

None of it makes any sense. I don’t know how this all happened but I do know that I'm not safe here. Where is the military? Are they even around any more? I don't know what's going on and in the city I am totally alone.

I am certain you are still out there somewhere, I can feel it. I want you to know that I will wait for you... Do not think that I am leaving you - you are and always will be with me and my love for you will be forever.

If you read this I will have made my way out of here. I will wait for you at the gas station just a few miles out of town.

I hope I can be there tomorrow evening and I will wait for a week. If you do not show up I will be heading north, to try and find someone - anyone - who might have survived this.

Forever yours.Buy the awesome soundtrack of this game at http://davidfburrows.bandcamp.com/album/paradigm-shift-ost

Paradigm Shift is a horror adventure game where you try to survive a zombie apocalypse. Story: You play as an unnamed man. You awaken from a nightmare and find your city of River Lake devastated by a chemical plant explosion that turns animals and humans into flesh eating monsters. Your rations are running low and you decide that it's time leave. The story is pretty bares bones, you do get notes scattered around and they try to explain the story slightly, but not by much. It's really not that good and only is there to set up the puzzles you solve. Graphics: The graphics are absolutely awful. Paradigm Shift is an adventure game and you know that looking for items is a big part of games like these. The environments look really low resolution and there's these really ugly scratch marks across each screen, which sometimes obscures crucial items you need to pick up. Enemies also look stupid, they have these really weird photoshop stuff on them, that makes them look funny instead of scary. Audio: Since this game is basically a flash game, the audio is super compressed and crunchy. The sound effects are all awful and are actually quite hilarious, like the zombies attacking you. …

Not sure about the negative reviews - I decided to play this since it was in my "bucket list". 25min into it, and I really didn't see an issue with the game. I plays more like a hidden object game that a horror game. In short the "infected" actually show up predictably. Especially when you click to much, and try not to back track so much. Get all the clues you can get per scene. i died a lot, I mean A LOT to figure this out. Once you know where to go and what props you need, the infects seem not to bother you. However you will die as you go further unless you are lucky and get the clues right off the bat. And most are pretty simple to figure out. In short the game is very brutal to your mistakes. I actually had fun from what I was playing so far. So I died. pffff, the game is fun. Just have to make sure you go slow and pay attention. Yes that door may kill you instantly or the kill will, but then don't bother those on the next run. It is NOT as bad a people are saying.. Its not easy. But it's not really that bad.

Paradigm Shift is a short point and click adventure game with a gritty apocalypse/zombie theme. Fullscreen doesn't work, it's extremely low effort, beneath what you might expect for a flash/browser game. The artwork has a consistent, poor quality distressed filter over it. The quality here is extremely low, and impossible to recommend.
