Party Host 85

"Party Host 85" is, well, sometimes a game comes along that's so bad that the peak player count is only one... usually just the developer and myself, and sometimes some poor sod firing it up and then quickly deleting it. Party Host 85 is one of those games. This adventure game somehow looks like an RPG Maker asset flip, but also at the same time considerably worse... at least the stock assets from Kadokawa's RPG Maker aren't quite as painful on the eyes as whatever is going on here is. In this game you host a party, keep the guests entertained... really there's some surprising depth, but I see a lot of the hard work that went into this as wasted work... a game concept that wouldn't go anywhere without a highly polished contemporary level of quality in the implementation. Sure, maybe they're going for a 1980's EGA 16 colour graphics look... I gotta say, it's 2025 now. Hiding lack of budget/talent behind "I made it look bad on purpose" has got to stop. I really wish if developers can't do something, instead of trying and failing, they just don't... it would raise the average quality of games on Steam quite a lot. This game is a very well made party simulator in which a girl wants to make enough money in tips to go on vacation to spite her parents. I have only gotten the "Normal" ending so far out of four. The game keeps you on your feet so that you don't just idle it to make bank; you have to work for those tips. Talk to your guests, get them their favorite foods and drugs and beverages and music, clean up any messes, and *for the love of god don't let fires get out of hand.* The more you talk to people, the more popular you get, and then you get guests who tip a whole payment. Definitely worth playing this game, especially since I found it through r/ARG.

Party Host 85 es un simulador de hacer fiestas universitarias norteamericanas (por lo menos las de las películas), en el que el objetivo es hacer suficiente dinero a base de las propinas de tus amigos (de nuevo, muy americano) para poder irte de vacaciones. Para ello hay que comprar comida, drogas y alcohol, pero también hay que hablar con todos los invitados para averiguar qué le gusta a cada uno de ellos y tenerlos a todos contentos. La mecánica, al final, resulta ser un poco más lineal de lo que parece al principio y eso es una pena, pero en general el juego es una sucesión de buenas ideas, una detrás de otra.

The game is fine, simple and cool, and I think it would be even cooler if it had more features and difficulty. After a short while you know what to do and earning cash can become a routine. But still fun and with very charming characters and interesting events. Worth trying and very enjoyable. And then... the mystery, I like when games hide real challenges, and this one hides a good one.
