✦ AI summary

Pegasus Door is a wave-based robot shooter that blends FPS and tower defense mechanics, where you earn money to buy weapons and upgrades while protecting your armory between rounds. Players appreciate its low price point, variety of weapons, and decent core mechanics that differentiate it somewhat from typical wave shooters, but criticize the bland presentation, lack of progression saves between sessions, technical issues like crashes, and limited enemy variety that makes long-term engagement feel repetitive.
Played On: HTC Vive
Pegasus Door is yet another virtual reality wave-based shooter. Instead of fighting hordes of undead or monsterous foes, this time you'll be fighting robots. Three different types, exactly; flying drones, bi-ped bots, and cannons. Although they can't hurt you, they can damage your armory. The more robots you gun down, the more money you earn to buy weapons, upgrades, and ammo. You get a limited amount of time between waves to place your orders before moving on to the next round. I wish that the developer offered more insight into this game on the store page, or even in the trailer. After wave 5, you end up getting transported to a different area, but due to just how bland the overall presentation is I decided not to experiment with what could easily be an endless amount of waves. You're surrounded by endless desert, and the sound effects are some of the most grating pew-pew laser effects in the world. On the upside, the guns aren't too bad looking and the shooting is fairly on point. The graphics aren't bad, but the environment is lackluster. Hopefully the full Pegasus Door release has more to offer than this prequel. It would also be nice if …

Full Review - http://www.htcvivegamereviews.com/all-review-list/pegasus-door/ Lets Play - http://www.htcvivegamereviews.com/all-video-list/pegasus-door/ 7/10 Another wave shooter on the VR? Pegasus Door is classified as a “mix between FPS and Tower Defense game, but in VR” in the Steam store description so what do I think? Pegasus Door pits you against waves of robots while defending your armory. If your armory is destroyed – I assume you are game over. I played about the first 7 or 8 rounds in my play through and saw 3 distinct enemies – walking robots that kind of look like something out of Talos Principle, flying robots that seem to focus on your armory and turret type robots that are deployed and simply stand still firing at you. I am not sure if there is anything else or not beyond this point but there didn’t seem to be any bosses or new robots in the few levels I played which is probably fine for a budget priced game. Pegasus Door looks good but had a few minor issues to myself. What buttons are available to press on the armory isn’t clear as a new player but once you figure it out, its all fairly intuitive. You can drop your gun on accident using the grip key but it fait…

Played on Oculus Rift w/ Touch. A basic wave shooter but very inexpensive and with some decent mechanics. Got it on sale for $2 and that wasn't too bad for something a bit different, though barely so. Somewhat similar to Regenesis Arcade. The biggest con is there is no state save of level or weapons upgrades so you have to start from scratch at level 1 each time you open the game. And it crashed on me @ level 13 or 14. Unlike many wave shooters, this has some teleport free movement with rotation on teleport. No free rotation though. A 45 or 90 degree rotate on the right stick would have been helpful. 5 weapons: pistol (forced starting purchase), shotgun, rifle, grenade launcher, and rocket launcher. Each play differently and you can dual wield 2 different weapons (not the same one). You don't get damaged by your own explosions and the overall "VR presence" of the weapons is a bit weak. The mechanics basically make the pistol a weak rifle and the shotgun and grenade a weak rocket. So I played with rifle as my primary and rocket in my off-hand since it has pretty good area of effect. Sometimes use the rifle to finish off enemies weakened by the rocket. You're ammo limi…
