Peregrine is a Third Person, Action RPG, Hack and Slash, Fantasy game.Story:
After escaping from an inevitable death you have been chosen to wield the Desolation Blade. While wielding it you can bring justice to those who brought death and destruction to earth and enslaved mankind. Using the most powerful weapon that a mortal can wield you'll purge every enemy until one of the Dominators Kings is destroyed.
Gameplay:
You travel between lands looking to destroy Abbadon, the Cursed King. Purging enemies gives you souls that enhance abilities. You can also collect new abilities that increase Desolation Blade’s damage while it bursts into flames. Collect powers to protect yourself from damage while in combat. Dodge attacks or use the Blessed Shield to block and retaliate against enemies.

The player starts in a cave and ventures outside where the landscape is teaming with all sorts of beasts. As the player reaches various trigger points, the camera switches to a fly-through; the second time this happens is quite long and appears to be trying to show the player the general path that should be followed. The combat is mainly mouse clicking through a set of fixed attack animation sequences. There are controls for special attack combinations, block, and a shield bash. There are also some modes: Attack, Dodge, and Morph. As monsters are killed the player acquires souls, and these can be spent to upgrade the various modes. Peregrine is an Unreal Engine game with dozens of assets that have been reused. In fact, it seems like all of the models and sounds are purchased assets. The graphics are fairly well rendered, but the lighting and contrast is washed out, giving the game an over-exposed look. The…5 found this helpful
It's a cool indie experience. Challenging but fun. I had a hard time hitting enemies with the second attack in the attack combo. But other than that I liked the combat.3 found this helpful
