People seem pretty critical of it. There are some small bugs here and there, but no show stoppers. Pixel art is great. Combat is okay, not the best not the worst. I hate puzzles but I can deal with these and they even give you as skip option. For the asking price, it is worth it. Give the game a shot and ignore the bad reviews, you can always return it, if it don't like it.

Philna Fantasy... Yes, I know: the name sounds suspicious, but don’t be fooled. This isn’t a cheap clone, but a fairly competent retro RPG, with pixel art, plenty of puzzles, and classic genre systems. The premise is intriguing but simple. While traveling aboard a spaceship, you end up crashing on a medieval fantasy planet full of monsters, warriors, and guilds. Basically, it’s an isekai. The crash wipes your memory, so at the beginning you simply help villagers using your combat skills. Over time, the story starts to unravel into something more interesting, including betrayals, supernatural threats, and an evil force seeking to devour the entire planet. It’s not an especially deep narrative, but it works well as an excuse to explore the map. This is a top-down action game, very much in the style of classic 2D Zelda. Combat is the core, and at the start you choose one of four classes: berserker, with close quarter combat; ranger, with long-distance combat; chronomancer; who uses magic and grimoires; and assassin, focused on attacking from the shadows. Each class feels distinct, with its own combos, extensive skill trees, and advantages or disadvantages against certain enemies, ma…

Usually don’t review games, but really like this game and confused about the poor reviews. The art is very cute and the gameplay is very chill. I love crafting, collecting things, earning achievements, and doing quests for people. Usually don’t love combat-heavy games, but I found the combat to be enjoyable enough and not ruin my interest in game. I love the puzzle solving aspect in the dungeons, so if you like puzzling more than fighting you would probably like the game. I haven’t noticed any major bugs that impacted my gameplay so far. The quests and story/characters are quite simple, so don’t expect too much from that in terms of an RPG. But overall I am really enjoying the game. I tried the demo first and really loved it so I immediately bought the game (which is quite rare for me).

Fun little ARPG. There's a light story to follow and plenty of townspeople to talk to, if that's your thing. The real meat is in the combat and various combat related systems. Combat is sort of like the old Shining Soul games. Maybe reminiscent of Secret of Mana, or maybe LoZ: Link to the Past, but with more RPG elements. Four character classes, each with a branching skill tree. Have only played mage, but there looks to be at least 3 distinct builds just from skill choices. Your stats passively go up as you level, and you gain a skill point each level to build how you want. It looks like you can respec your skill points whenever you want, so experimenting with different skills is easy. There's a crafting system using materials you get from harvesting nodes in dungeons/mob drops. Crafting levels up the more you do it, unlocking passive bonuses and more recipes. Gear has an array of RNG mods, so you can keep crafting until you get the perfect rolls for your class/build. Gathering a lot of materials is a bit grindy. Just nodes in dungeons that respawn when you reset or beat the boss, and some materials gained back from dismantling gear. There's also a monster card system where y…

I didn't care for this one. It has an ambitious scope with poor execution.
