Interesting

Placement is a very simple puzzle game, but I think the idea behind it is much cleverer than the presentation makes it look. The whole game is based around chess pieces, except I am not actually playing chess. Instead, I have to place pieces on a board so that every piece is protected exactly once. That one rule is basically the entire foundation of the game, but it gives me a surprisingly good reason to stop and think about every move before I make it. What I like most is how quickly I understand the basic idea. I do not need to know how to play a full game of chess to get started, although knowing how the pieces move definitely helps. Once I place a piece, I have to think about which other pieces it is protecting and whether I have accidentally protected something more than once. A move that looks correct at first can completely ruin the arrangement somewhere else, so the puzzles gradually make me pay much closer attention to the board. There are more than 80 levels, and I like the way the difficulty builds rather than throwing the hardest puzzles at me straight away. The early levels are simple enough for me to understand the rules, while later ones require much more planning.…
