Precision (2026)

If you are looking for a retro game that is as hard as Dark Souls, you've come to the right place. The look and concept may look simple, but even after getting used to the mechanics of shooting the ball, its still tough to do it in the amount of turns given. Level 1 and 2 take some time, but level 3 and beyond are tough. ⚪

Precision is a wonderfully focused little arcade platformer, and I liked how immediately clear its objective is. I move through a series of compact stages, shoot balls at targets and then reach the goal without running out of time or using too many shots. The idea is simple, but that simplicity makes every mistake feel important and gives the game a nice puzzle like quality. The shooting mechanics are where most of the strategy comes from. I have to consider the angle of each shot and think about how to hit the targets efficiently. I enjoyed that the game is not simply testing whether I can aim. It is also asking me to think about the order of my actions and how quickly I can reach the goal after clearing the targets. The time limit adds another layer of pressure. I cannot spend forever planning the perfect solution, so eventually I have to trust my judgement and commit to a route. I liked the balance between careful aiming and quick movement because it keeps the levels from feeling like completely static puzzles. The retro presentation is another thing I enjoyed.
