"Remnants" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. This one is from FH Salzburg. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This is a first person action shooter set in an ancient ruin. The story revolves around you escaping a crumbling ruin by fighting hordes of drones. You customize your weapon by combining elemental powers. Gameplay involves collecting items and perfecting strategies to overcome enemies... it's unpolished and the game lacks quality of life features and fully fleshed out settings, as you might…

Interesting idea... too bad it doesn't lead to something interesting.

Игра Remnants сразу захватывает своим атмосферным миром, полным тайн и заброшенных руин. Визуально игра очень приятна, с детализированными локациями и хорошо проработанными моделями персонажей. Геймплей сочетает в себе элементы исследования, решения головоломок и, конечно же, сражений с врагами. Боевая система достаточно динамичная, требующая тактического подхода и умелого использования способностей персонажа. Сюжет кажется многообещающим, хотя пока еще рано говорить о его глубине. Чувствуется некая недосказанность, подталкивающая к дальнейшему исследованию этого мира и его истории. Головоломки в меру сложные и не кажутся притянутыми за уши, что добавляет интереса к игровому процессу. В целом, Remnants производит положительное впечатление. Это добротная игра, которая может увлечь на несколько часов своим мрачным очарованием и интересными механиками. Однозначно стоит дать ей шанс, особенно любителям игр с элементами исследования и загадок. Надеюсь, в будущем разработчики продолжат развивать мир и углублять сюжет.
