About Rescue Love Revenge
Rescue Love Revenge is an exciting new action-adventure game with an epic story that will unfold as we release future and frequent updates.
RLR features an energetic style with addictive gameplay and challenging levels!
Unrequited Rescue
In Act 1 Chapter 1, we find our hero crossing treacherous terrain to Rescue girls in the high Alpine mountains, guarded by a band of bandana'd bandits. A second character known as The Grizzle makes his entrance in Chapter 2's desert environment. Chapter 3 will mark the beginning of episodic releases in a semi-regular fashion.
RLR's first chapters are a wild ride with unexpected storytelling, fun twitch gameplay, cutegore retro graphics, and addictive music. It's a funny style mixed with a twisted story surrounding timed jumps in a hardcore twitch runner full of secrets in each level. With chaotic combat reduced to simple gameplay, this mode that feels like racing can be challenging and at times a bit unforgiving.
Fortune's Fool
At its core, Rescue Love Revenge is a sandbox game set in The Old West with the first levels focused on having a retro style with auto-attacking and auto-running singleplayer gameplay where only jumping is key. That is only one realization of the game's components for creating experiences. The game will gradually expand and transition beyond the retro style to realistic and other styles, to full platformer and shooter controls, to couch multiplayer and scalable online play, to level editing and game modifications with extensive Steamworks integration.
During Early Access the default retro mode will receive updates adding new chapters beyond one and two with new custscenes and levels, upgrades to the level selection world map, the RLR runtime level editor, multiplayer and other new modes, and the slow build of the nextgen realistic open world sandbox sequel of sorts, almost like two games in one plus mods and episodes for tons of hours of overall gameplay.

Rescue Love Revenge is a speed runner game with only 2 chapters available in Early Access. It was an hour of side-scrolling running, slicing or hopping on bandits and armadillos, and collecting coins. We go from chasing chicks (chapter 1) to chasing ... a horse (chapter 2)? Either way, the story was quite bland and dull. I don't remember much besides the annoying cactus and barrel explosion mechanics. The 2 major issues I had were the accuracy of the hitboxes for the bandits, specifically ones that are facing us. When we are jumping towards them, I can never tell if it's gonna end up with our MC slicing their heads off - or them slicing ours. The hitboxes are wonky, and confusing. Additionally, there's this weird level 1 bug where I'm forced to play it twice, on each chapter, before progression really starts. The game play has random, unexpected periods of FPS drops too, despite it being a low quality game with blocky graphics. The lag ends up screwing my flow. And the coins you collect, can be used for 2 items in the shop. Only 2 items. This is a very mediocre game, and not one I would return to with the devs last update being in 2016. Skip this game completely, it's not worth …7 found this helpful
A meh runner game that feels like a mobile port but with button prompts for a controller even if you don't have one plugged in? It is also abandoned in early access with no updates since 2016. Even if my laptop easily passed the minimum required specs for the Linux version, I couldn't get past level 13 because it kept freezing for 5 seconds at a time and ran at 15fps. Worked fine on my desktop at least.3 found this helpful
This is one of those trash games with achievements, being hostage in your library. I was, okay, how hard it's going to be to like finish Act 1, like 4 level? 8 levels? 12 levels? I am currently at 20 and I do not see the end... Who thought that Act 1 Chapter 1 should be at least 20 levels? It's like a book with a prologue that takes 60 pages of it...1 found this helpful
Abandomware, what remains is some empty shell of a prototype of some 2010s Unityslop
Nonsensical level design, inconsistent hitboxes, and a lack of a logical difficulty progression -- one stage might be run right to win, then another might need pixel-perfect jumps so you don't eat ♥♥♥♥, only for the next one to go right back to being baby mode.
I hate everything about this game.
