I've played 10 levels (of a total of 40) and I've seen enough. The game is far too easy, you just breeze through everything without having to worry about obstacles or enemies since they are so easy to avoid, on top of that there's hearts or power ups that you can pick up littered around each level in case you do lose a life. It's so easy that a baby could finish it, this must be the easiest platformer I ever played (at least the first 10 out of 40 levels are), it's immensly boring as well. The game may become more challenging later on but frankly I don't care since there is no variation in enemies or obstacles (the same ones come back in each level), it's a very lazy design. The positive reviews of this game all were made by people from Ukraïne (I suspect that's where the developer comes from) and scream fake review to me. On a positive note: the soundtrack is okay. 2/106 found this helpful
Restless Hero is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one is particularly badly made and has a very small number of "differentiators" that don't work well and arguably make the game worse. First up when you jump you always jump up and towards the left or right... steering much while jumping isn't going to happen. This is bad. There's also a "phase out" gimmick that lets you run past enemies, and a dumbed down "upgrade" system that lets you upgrade your power by collecting enough green potions, which nobody really bothered to do, because this was a pretty abject failure. Russian shovelware isn't popular, who knew. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settin…4 found this helpful
Amazing platformer! Takes some time to get used to controlls. Overal good quality and quick pace.4 found this helpful
