Riddled Corpses

[h1] I tried this game a few times and it always appear to be boring. Pick your character and obliterate hordes of zombies while collecting gold and treasures. Zombies move super slow not giving much pace to the gameplay. Touch zombie and you die unless you have a shield. Upgrade your character and try again your luck in beating the game (5 stages in total). Game feels shallow and repetitive with some progression system based on upgrading your character. Visuals are pixelated and kinda chibby looking. Music is a bit 16-bit. Time waster, apparently more fun for coop. [/h1]

Like Sky Force: Anniversary, another game that I reviewed that was a shmup, the problem with this game is that you start out weak and you have to end up upgrading with coins to have enough firepower to deal with enemies. The grind however takes hours unless you use .ini file magic to change your coin count and buy all the shop items (I had to do that because the game had zero Steam Cloud support, so when I deleted the game out of rage of the grind, I had to redo everything technically, and then I got all of the achievements legitimately). Yes, to easily beat the game, you have to use the last overpowered chick character with all of the firepower. Yes, CLEARING THE GAME WITH THE FIRST UNDERPOWERED CHARACTER THAT YOU START WITH IS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO BECAUSE THE BOSSES ARE BULLET SPONGES HERE TOO (I mean, look at the video for the game on the store page; the developer just shows the overpowered chick characters with a lot of firepower and doesn't show the character that you start with or the grind you would have to deal with). Really grindy, but fun. I had this game on Switch as well, so I'm fairly familiar with the fact that I'm still unable to beat it. Its definitely easier with friends than alone. The best strategy for the game is to keep replaying the first stage to grind until your able to get all the available upgrades to actually beat the full five stages. Not all at once mind you, at a certain point you'll want to go back and grind for the consumables so that you can go through the final stage. I never got that far, because at a certain point it is that grindy. I still really enjoy it though, it has a very classic arcad-y feel that I really enjoy. Its definitely easier to grind with friends though, as there's one character that attracts all the gold and one that doubles the rate at which gold drops. Put those two together, and grinding becomes much faster
