About Richard & Alice
Outside, the snow falls. It has done for some time. Elsewhere, they say, parts of the world have been rendered an inhospitable desert, the earth parched and cracked. People live in the zones now. The lucky ones, anyway.
Richard and Alice have secrets.
Created by Lewis Denby and Ashton Raze, whose games journalism credits include the likes of Eurogamer, Gamespot and the Telegraph, Richard & Alice is a riveting mystery story about family, desperation and the weather – all set to the beat of an indie adventure game.

Players praise this point-and-click adventure for its mature, well-written story with meaningful choices that lead to multiple endings, sensible puzzle logic, and believable characters dealing with heavy themes of survival and desperation. However, many criticize the gameplay itself as tedious and frustrating, with slow character movements, confusing mechanics that often require guides, and padded pacing that makes progressing feel like a chore—though most agree the strong narrative payoff, particularly in later chapters, makes it worth enduring the mechanical frustrations.
Recommended for all fans of PNC adventure games with mature themes. While I enjoy humor as much as the next person, IMO too many PNC adventure games are cutesy/humor based. I was able to run this without difficulty on a Windows 11 based computer.
A tragic, dramatic story with multiple endings (based entirely on decisions from day 6 on). If you like a story with a bunch of mysteries that you can guess at before the end, you'd probably enjoy this one. There are many heavy topics and events found within however, since it's a story concerning complete anarchic chaos and desperate survival decisions. It never comes off as excessive though, and competently communicates the sad, lonely desperation that results from such times.
An enjoyable story, surrounded by gameplay that will make you want to uninstall. Personally, I think it was worth going through, but I also never want to touch the game again.
Very well written, touching story with relatable characters and a very believable world. Puzzles make sense: no nonsense logic like some games. Just long enough, didn't overstay its welcome. Recommended.
Feel like it's padded by slow movements and dialogue. Gameplay was confusing and hard to figure out without a guide.
Sincerely, It was one of hardiness point & click experiences I ever had. The story is about struggle, I dont know if is intentional but you also struggle playing make the characters moving point to point you felt like you are doing effort. It s was painful !!! And Annoying !! The Barneys dialogs so annoying. I bet many wont persevere, because its boring. Than the final chapter or the Final Act is Good, the story turns out to be GOOD. And later I check there is alternative finals, maybe I was lucky with my choices to get expected a very good ENDING. I would play it again just to see others endings Oh NO, the mechanics of this game you felt like you are dragging the characters through the screen carrying their bodies. To be Truthful I ll RECOMMEND this GAME, only IF you ll suffer to get to the END. ( And there is a chance the others ends arent so good, good luck to you ) If you want a Point Click pleasureful and with a story the hook you up from the start dont buy it.
