That's because I really wasn't having fun. It felt more like a chore. Still, I'm giving this a sideway thumbs because it's of average quality for a VR wave shooter. To be more specific, it's a gesture-based (rune drawing) magical 180 wave shooter. It's pretty average for one of those. Doesn't stand out, but it's still competently enough made. You basically point your joystick, or thumbpad, in one of four directions for the 4 different spell types. You draw runes to select the spell for each spell type. You get stronger ones as you go along. You draw both left and right-handed and can combine them to make even stronger spells. Enemies come down from several lanes and walk or fly towards you. You shoot them down with the different spells & the spells will have different ranges & effects. The problem is that selecting via joystick is an iffy proposition with any motion controller. The game is really fun! I've played it for an hour and I'm already looking forward to more. The music gives the game a fitting and wonderful Atmosphere and the games style is wonderful to look at too!1 found this helpful
This game has so much potential! The combat system is intuitive and fun, and the level design is creative. Some minor bugs, but nothing that ruined the experience. Definitely worth checking out!1 found this helpful

Rune Bender is a fun and surprisingly challenging game. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the celtic style story, and the voice acting of the gods. The concept of drawing runes while choosing your preferred element adds a nice twist to the gameplay. If you're looking for a fun little game that gets you hooked, I'd recommend giving it a try!
