Welcome to Rune Break, the completely free time survival game with minimalistic gameplay and rogue-lite elements. As a solo developer, my goal was to create a game that everyone could enjoy without any barriers. That's why Rune Break is completely free to download and play, and there is no monetization whatsoever.
In Rune Break, your objective is simple - survive as long as possible and gather as many gems as you can to power up your next character. With over 20 skills and abilities, you must experiment with different builds to upgrade your abilities and go even further on your next run. Face off against challenging bosses, unlock achievements, and use various points of interest to your advantage.
But beware, the game is not easy, and you cannot hide. You must survive, or you will lose everything. However, with every failure, comes new opportunities to learn and try again.
Rune Break V1.0 is finally here, featuring new bosses, new maps, new enemies, and many more surprises in store for you. Plus, with controller support, you can play the game with your favorite controller for a more immersive experience.

Because it is free, it gets a pass for me. It is not a bad rougelike if you are new to the genre, but it lacks in complexity and difficulty. The game could really benefit from any amount of enemy projectiles. All enemies just chase you down, which if you know anything about kiting, makes them all trivial. The hardest thing about this game is not lagging through the permanent spawning when you are underleveled in levels 3 and up. But once you clear it, the amount of time it took for me to whittle down the boss, I pretty much had every upgrade leveled up and it truly felt like i cheated just because I was able to walk circles for 30 minutes. Additionally, the lack of passives make your decisions not feel as weighted. The game needs more ability interactions and more passives. Was gonna play until I unlocked all achievements, but I afk'd during level 4 because no one could dent my HP bar and it bugged... and I just lost interest. Thanks for the fun 6 hours, I'm out!
This game has no limit to how many monsters appear on-screen. You'll quickly go down to 15fps even with the high end GPU. Not sure why there is no limit. Get the movement speed every time it comes up or you will die fast
