School of the Dead is a visually distinctive neon shooter with an interesting premise, but it suffers from significant issues that undermine the experience. Players praise its unique aesthetic and creative concept, while criticizing unclear controls and tutorials, numerous bugs including map exploits, balance problems with boss fights, and a deeply offensive achievement reference that prompted immediate uninstalls from some players. The game shows potential despite its flaws, but needs substantial polishing and content additions to deliver on its promise.
The achievement reads 'Columbine begins' after you pickup the shotgun. I cannot begin how disrespectful and distasteful this is. I don't care what your game is, this is an instant uninstall.77 found this helpful
I don't enjoy many shooter-type games. This one, however, caught my attention because of its bright, neon-ish appearance (yes, I'm the type of person who totally jumps for graphics). And probably because both the videos and screenshots looked kinda weird. I tend to like weird games. School of the Dead is the story about a cute neon-pinky girl named - you would never guess... - Anastasia. She sits in class when suddenly a strange accident happens. In a short period of time the school is filled with hideous monsters. Anastasia must find her little brother and needs to get out before it's too late. It might be me being a noob, but I think the game would really benefit from clear instructions or a user's guide in the menu. The controls are not that intuitive and the use of a trial-and-error method quickly leads to frustration, particularly in crisis situations where a bunch of angry monsters are rapidly approaching, while your main character... is... moving.... extremely... slowly... (At least I didn't know how to speed her up.) Another small thing is that I'm not a fan of the combination of using the mouse in your right hand and the keyboard (WASD) in your left hand, I would prefe…4 found this helpful
So many bugs. It is easy to jump outside the map. How to defeat the horn guy? I gave it around 20 shoots and it was still alive.3 found this helpful

Not bad, i played it and felt in love. I hope dev will add some new levels with the updates because it’s so fascinating despite the little bugs so i swear you it’s the best game you have ever played2 found this helpful
