Scribble Ships

This game needs work. It's a cute idea on paper (HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHHHSBHFKDVSKDVEIFJNLVSB), but the execution fell flat. The main gimmick is getting to draw your own ship, but the drawing tool is limited. It needs a zoom feature, an undo feature, and the ability to switch stats. Any ship you draw gets the weakest stat distribution, so you die in one hit. But I drew Reimu Hakurei, so that worked out. Nothing is explained in the game. The ships and what they do have explanations, but in the actual gameplay, you know nothing. You don't even know your remaining health because it's not shown! I see the red bar at the top, but what does it do? What does it keep track of? I never see it go down when I get hit! It only goes up! And what does the blue bar next to it do? Is THAT my health? Is it my gas?!?!?! Apparently, this game was a Kickstarter project. I get that it was made by one dude, but what was his goal? Ten dollars and a day-old Big Mac? I've played games that cost as much as this one that have more depth, like Celeste when it goes on sale. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
