SHADOW DETECTIVE

📻 Pleasantly surprising, considering the low price and the generally questionable quality of such projects. If you don't like to carefully read info, this isn't for you. The game is small, but has a fair amount of replayability. The atmosphere and environments are beautifully recreated. It's realistically dark, there are useful and convenient devices, but the ghosts quickly lose their tension. The randomness with them is too frequent, and the danger they pose is insignificant. If you don't stay in one place, they're unlikely to ever get you. The main plot is short, but the true ending is significantly longer, as it includes a few puzzles, albeit not the most obvious ones, requiring considerable thought. The plot is told through comparing facts found in various notes, but there's also a large side campaign in the style of an "adventure book," where you have to find pages in different places and make decisions, choosing your own path through story. Despite minor bugs, a fair amount of effort has definitely been put into this. Simply awesome, keep it up!

The game looks good, but the gameplay isn't. It'd be much better if the dev makes the shadow and chasing more scary imao.

Update Review* Apologies to the dev, There was NO BUG and it was just me being stupid (see spoiler).
