Shape of America is a story-driven, non-linear, turn-based role-playing game, in which you assume the role of an aspiring politician. You make friends, make deals, give speeches, take part in the debates, everything to become the president of the U.S. and to change the course of history.

- Unique Story - Enter the world threatened by the millennium bug, excited about internet boom and curious about the upcoming presidential election. Experience the story about corruption, lies and bribery, about great successes and even greater failures.
- Real-life calendar - Time is passing by, so if someone wants to see you before Thanksgiving day, you'd better be there or you will miss your chance.
- Favor system - every character will remember if you have helped him or not - If you want to stop police investigation, try to help chief of police to deal with labor unions and he might return the favor.
- Character development - When you are a politician you don't have to know how to use a sword, but you have to know how to talk to people - boast, bargain or flatter.
- Turn-based combat - Confront your opponents in battles of words, use rhetoric devices to prove you are right.
- Speeches mechanic - Try to figure out political beliefs of your audience, tell them what they want to hear and gain popularity.
- Retro Art Style - Everything in the game is stylized to make you feel nostalgic about the 90s.

It's so good, please make chapter 2. The story and game mechanics work perfectly. A unique game that really reveals how the political quid pro quo system works. The game is short but for the price it is worth it.1 found this helpful
Fake it 'til you make it in this very cool 90s dot-com boom setting. Great graphics & multi-layered gameplay. Could use a little more polish, but was a thoroughly enjoyable and refreshing experience. This is great! ... Where is Episode 2?
I downloaded this game for free (regional price, maybe?). I really liked the aesthetics, cool retro 80s (90s should be, really, but it felt a bit older than that. Perhaps in this American Union State the 90s were like that). The soundtrack is also good and fits with the story. The Pokemon-style verbal Throwdowns are a nice element, and I liked that you didn't know much about how they worked and had to find out by trial and error. The storyline is intriguing, as well as the theme. Politics and text-based adventure is a good combo. The most negative part is that the game ends abruptly, as it is only the first episode. Shame that it didn't continue. If I had to pay for the game, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. Nevertheless, I spent a fun couple of hours playing it, always wanting to find out more about what was about to happen. Overall, a fun little game, but beware that it is incomplete.
Great game, entertaining. Unfortunately it ends after the first episode… so no resolution… 90s nostalgia guaranteed!
