About Simantik
Simantik is a first-person survival shooter set in an anti-utopian world with steampunk elements.
The world is harsh. You are a representative of the authorities, who ended up on a prison island, it is located in the very north, constant cold is your companion. But only in the south of the island is much warmer due to active geysers, only there you can see at least a little greenery.
In this place, an incident recently occurred after which people from the island stopped communicating, you have to figure out what happened.
All the survivors on the island barricaded themselves in the cities surrounded by crowds of evil spirits. Many monsters also received their abilities and powers, so they should not be underestimated. Look for supplies in every house, use any weapon and any items to reach the goal and survive!
Chat with the characters to learn their story and thoughts about what is happening. Perhaps this place is not what it seems, an unusual prison, but something else ... But this can only be known - you
This is not a story of triumph, this is a story of universal death.
Can you escape it and save everyone? Try it, maybe you can save the world!
The story will take you all over the island, you will be able to talk to the characters, getting to know their little problems and their big grief. You can talk to every person in this world, get a task from them, which is not always solved unambiguously, the main thing is to be attentive to details, even a trifle can lead you in a different way. Notes and pages of journals will complement the history of this world or shed light on tasks from the characters.

Each area has its own unique monsters that have their own tactics and abilities, meeting with such can be fatal! Use all the items to get out of such a fight alive. Do you like walking at night? Here it is better to be more careful with this, at night those creatures come out that will quietly pursue you until they turn you into a corpse cooling down in the freezing cold of the island!

it's not an alpha, it's barely a proof of concept you want money, bring a game you want a game, put in the work you don't want to wait for the work to be done ? just put it out there and let the people suffer for your sake you didn't even bother with early access, you probably didn't have any testers outside you little circle why do i even bother34 found this helpful
Wow, this really was a throwback to 2005, in the worst kinda way. I jumped into Simantik pretty much blind, with only the information on the store page to go by, so I thought I had sufficiently lowered my expectations. Boy, was I wrong. While the setting and whatever I managed to glean of the story are certainly interesting, I just couldn't force myself to keep playing. [h1]TL; DR[/h1] Although the dark steampunk setting and description seem interesting enough, Simantik completely fails to deliver on it. Starting from the first cutscene and the dated, wonky graphics, nothing really fits. Ammo is scarce, guns can't seem to shoot straight and nights get pitch black. Furthermore, the voices seem like they were ripped straight from a text-to-speech program. In it's current state, there are literally no redeeming qualities to make me even consider recommending this. Edit: Shortly after writing this review, I refunded this game, making it the second time ever I did so on Steam, and the first time I did it for a game that actually launched. You won’t have a third-person perspective, but you’ll find a lot of familiar mechanic elements. The key difference is that instead of using swords and wizardry, you’ll make use of firearms and cold arms. Explore the island and help the locals get rid of evil monsters. You can chat with the locals, complete quests, ransack houses, pick locks, and gather supplies. You can create items/weapons/armor/ammo and cook food from the ingredients you collect. Weapons break as they are used. You cannot craft weapons, but you can find new ones and upgrade them. Ammo runs out quickly. Text to speech is not a good replacement for voice acting BUT there is a lot of love in this game. The story is pretty funny, I liked exploring and finding things in the houses. All the minigames were pretty fun and not to distracting. The lighting is a little annoying at night but after watching the developers play, I saw that you can wait in beds, so it is definitely my fault that I went out at night and got killed. The respawn point being outside in the middle of nowhere DOEs set the player up for getting killed over and over.
