Sinner 97 is a first person, PSX stylised, VHS psychological horror. It is our homage to the PS1 era of gaming.
The Story
Set in 1997, you are responding to an apparent message of distress from a member of a shadowy religious cult lead by “The Father”.
In the past the cult has kept to themselves, but in recent months they have been acting stranger and town locals report ever more disturbing rumours and activities.
Townsfolk have reported missing children, but police have been slow to act. Now for the first time a message has been “leaked” from inside the cult, causing further interest into what is really going on inside the walls of the Father’s house.
You proceed to the cult compound, not knowing what you will find, but determined to unravel what is going on…and to save anyone you can.

the killer is deaf and stupid and when you realize it the game turns into a walking sim, you always have a hiding spot atleast 3 seconds away, the entire gameplay loop is finding a key to a box that contains another key to another box and you keep doing that until the game eventually ends and you get no payoff, the plot is as generic as an occult horror story gets and all the notes you read lead to no climax whatsoever.2 found this helpful
Find things to open/do things game, this time with "evidence" to collect, a large friendo to avoid and a really infuriating note reading mechanic. also had the occasional glitch where youd get stuck in the wall and have to crouch/jump a few times to free yourself, but otherwise it was pretty enjoyable and worth a look1 found this helpful

VR Horror hidden gem. Top notch atmosphere, well done PSX visuals and good level design.
This is pretty good hide and seek game, first of a kind that I ever played and I found it really fun! Retro stylized graphics fits this title very well and every encounter with father elicit visceral reaction from me! It's also very replayable which I appreciate. I have to admit though that I didnt like every aspect of the game, for example I think that ventilation system is too broad and too elaborate, slowing down gameplay tremendously and breaking immersion, because they are too long and too safe... Also, loading a saved game tends to reverse some progress every time, which is a bit frustrating, but at least every item you used before reappears in safe room to help with that. Other than that there's not much to complain really, worth recommending!
