About Sixth Extinction

One of the most original games
Sixth Extinction is not your average puzzle game. With a dark and hard-hitting story lurking beneath the gameplay, it's up to you to uncover the truth and play your way to an important revelation about both yourself and the world you live in.

edit: flipped it to a non-recommendation due to the quality of the mobile port. sixth extinction is a 1-hour narrative puzzler. most of the 15 levels (unlocked one by one, no on-screen level numbers) play like a draw a single line game, with tiles disappearing after a single step, other tiles (or a combination of them) opening up roadblocks, etc. my least favorite mechanic was moving in the dark based on clues on the top of the screen. it promises no hand-holding, and sure enough, I got stumped on level 9 until I realized those tiles are clickable and nothing can be done to them with the keyboard, which I otherwise used instead of clicking the arrows on the bottom. those few levels offered very different puzzles, and even though there's not much monotony to mix up in such a short game, I didn't mind them. besides the arrows, clicked or pressed, there's level reset ('r' also works), but no undo. it's not really necessary though, especially with reset putting you back to the last unmarked checkpoint, if there are any, and after a few seconds of inactivity a skip option comes up. I found this a bit too fast, whereas once you step on the exit tile, it tak…2 found this helpful

Very short but with an important message. Did use skip button a couple of times since my brain did not want to work with me but all and all enjoyable.1 found this helpful
Polte Games' Sixth Extinction is a great little puzzle game with some really nice art and an engaging story. It's very short - probably the right size for its price but the game barely introduces interesting mechanics and then moves on again. Would love to see more of it! Very short but very well done. An interesting collection of puzzles, primarily logic- and math-based, with a nice little tale (and an important message) behind it all. Just wish there was more!
I like the narrator in this game. I didn't really pay close attention to the story, something about aliens (I'm not sure). The puzzles can get a little bit tedious, but you're able to skip it if you feel like giving up (bonus points for that). The soundtrack is nice. For the price, you really can't go wrong for a challenge. I'll be honest, if it wasn't for the narrator. I'd probably pass up on this game. I'd recommending on the narrator alone lol
