[h1] Great card game for metalheads [/h1] I really love how the hand-drawn art of this game is packed with metal references, mostly black metal—you can totally tell the dev used to sketch corpse paint in their room as a sad teen QAQ Also, the BGM is pretty solid. Even when I keep drawing trash, the riffs still make me headbang. The flavor text and card designs are hilarious—I mean, the Bean card literally gives you a Fart card, and I jsut can't stop laughing every time I see them. Oh, if you have both the cat and dog cards, they'll play with each other and you'll unlock a cuuuuute achievement, hell yeah. That said, the difficulty curve is all over the place. Early on, most builds feel similar, but mid-run, if you've picked up too many cards or haven't nailed down a proper build, your HP just melts away before you even reach the boss. Sometimes you get lucky and draw great cards, but honestly, this game feels way too RNG-heavy. I often get so frustrated when my opening hand sucks...Cause in this game, your start pretty much decides everything, ugh. Even so, if you're a metalhead and also into card games, I'd really recommend Skogdal to you.

Absolutely goated deckbuilder! Very funny, especially if you're norwegian. Great soundtrack. More people need to know about and play this game!!!

I have played quite a bit of roguelite deckbuilders and I must say, this is amongst the ones I have enjoyed the most to date. I usually engage with deckbuilders mainly from a strategic approach (and, in that regard, I find this game completely serviceable at the very least: aspects like the usage of energy for drawing cards, and keeping the cards in hand lend to a different flow that I really enjoyed, reminding me of the mechanics of classic TCGs. I felt more in control, while still feeling challenged), but I found this game compelling from an aesthetic perspective to a level I would only compare to Inscryption (another game - such as this one - that I will download from time to time even after completing all the achievements, just to enjoy a run). I was born in the early 90s and, even when I spent my childhood far, far away from Norway (never been near the place, really), the DIY comic aesthetic, the rough crowds in the streets, the cultural references, all resonated with me. It reminded me of the times I would look up to my older cousin, who would beat the final levels of Super Mario World for my brother just to, later that night, go for a drink and a smoke with his neighborhood …

Was not expecting it to be like Slay the Spire, full stop, however, it is defo as playable as StS, plus I really like the graphic art, and the soundtrack is real and perfectly fits the storyline. The dev somehow got Anders Odden to do the soundtrack, so thanks Anders, and also Erlend and Kay Arne. Fun, funny, interesting storyline, from a person who generally prefers ignore the storyline and get on with the mechanics of play. The tunage is absolute belter, if the name Anders Odden means nothing to you. At this point, I think this is a game I will certainly try to 100% the achievements, and may well be playing for a few years, because I like it that much. Totes a keeper. Thanks again, Erlend, Kay Arne, and Anders. One for the ages, I do believe. Disclaimer: I am a musician and have spent much of my life cutting about in scenes, with characters portrayed in the game, so it ticks all my bias in the best ways. Did I mention the soundtrack shreds? Music and compositions created by humans are the only sounds I want to hear. It's beautiful!
