General notice

Expect from this game to be physically engaged. You'll have to reproduce real moves from sport activities like archery or martial arts. As you'll have to move your body a lot, especially your arms, make sure that you have a clear playing area (minimum 2m x 1.5m). Stay far enough from your screen and your friends. It would be sad to hurt anyone :).
And like in a real physical activity: don't forget to breathe and take a break! (and drink gallons of water dammit!).

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's beautiful visuals, satisfying minigame mechanics (particularly the katana slicing), and fair pricing, with a calm and peaceful setting that works well for VR practice. However, common complaints center on significant technical issues including long loading times, unresponsive controls, unnatural weapon grip angles that don't match real-world wrist positions, and buggy angle settings, which detract from the overall experience and make some feel there are better VR alternatives available.

Sky Sanctuary is a virtual reality action game developed and published by Glitchr Studio that combines martial arts practice, precision-based gameplay, and peaceful exploration within a floating world suspended high above the clouds. Instead of relying on an elaborate storyline or constant combat encounters, the game focuses on personal mastery, encouraging players to refine their techniques through a variety of physical challenges. Guided by a wise master, players gradually learn the disciplines of the samurai while uncovering the secrets hidden throughout the serene sanctuary. Its blend of action and relaxation creates an experience that stands apart from many traditional VR titles, offering both entertainment and a surprisingly calming atmosphere. The gameplay revolves around movement and accuracy, making full use of virtual reality's immersive controls. Players engage in sword training by slicing bamboo, targets, and other objects with carefully timed swings rather than frantic motions. Every strike rewards precision, encouraging players to develop proper technique instead of simply relying on speed. Archery serves as another major activity, requiring steady aim and careful co…

I am a Quest 2 + AirLink/QuestLink over dedicated wifi SteamVR user in 2023. My playspace is about 3ft by 6ft. Peaceful and simple, the price of $3 is fair for this title. The minigames are simple and can be a little finnicky to learn to control. The setting is calming and sweet. There is only teleportation movement. One critique I have is the angle that the bow and katana are picked up at with the Quest 2 controllers. You can change the angle of your grip on the random sticks you can pick up in the game, but not on the weapons. The angle you are forced to hold the katanas and the bow at feel super bizarre and unnatural to the angle your wrist will be at in real life. I suggest a 5ft by 5ft playspace. I often had a challenge trying to angle myself to not get my guardian warning popping up on screen while moving the weapons in the minigames. The location in game is visually simple but very soothing. The audio and gameplay modes do not feel complex, but I think it actually could have value for someone into this aesthetic as a virtual 'cool down and sit' room. The interactable candles and drums are cool, but they're not responsive enough to be used as a seamless experience. It's …

Angle setting isn't working. 180deg or -180deg has no effect. Blade is at a weird angle. So is the bow. Please fix, otherwise, it's an ok game to practice on ur skill.

A variety of fun and satisfying minigames. There are about 7 of them right now, and I've been immersed in just the first 2 for now. The Katana is a delight! They physics of the game is great. It's better than Fruit Ninja because the Katana slicing is more accurate in slicing with the blade.

Sort of fun. I would say it isn't worth this price, so pick it up on sale (as I did). TBH, there are so many better VR games out there I lost interest quickly.
