About SnarfQuest Tales, Episode 1: The Beginning

Play as Snarf, a Zeetvah from Zeetville on an epic quest for fame and fortune. (Mostly fortune.) Can you help Snarf earn the gold, help the woman, and win his place on the throne?

SnarfQuest Tales is a point-and-click adventure game inspired by the style of such classics as the King's Quest series, Myst, and The Secret of Monkey Island. SnarfQuest Tales: Episode One is the first chapter of five planned adventures featuring Snarf, Larry Elmore's lovable adventurer. For the first time, SnarfQuest fans will interact with the beautiful Telerie Windyarm and Prince Raffendorf they know from the comics.

I have a geforce gt 430, 4gb ram, not a top pc, but enough to run this, yet it ran very laggy (and apparently i am not the only one). So what do you do? Offcourse try to contact the dev to see if he is willing to look into it. After like 6 months on facebook i finally got their reply. "Haha, who cares how crappy your setup is for a unity driven turd.." So that's what they think of their customers and their game. No it's not a crappy setup it's crappy optimized. [Edit] I got another reply stating that the person who wrote me the first comment was from an ex employee with access to their Facebook account, i am willing to believe that. However the issue of the performance was still not adressed, and i am also questioning if this game has not been abandoned (will there be future episodes?) that's why i keep it negative.

I don't know what creature possessed me to buy this game. I just thought to myself, "I'll just buy this, probably laugh at it, then write a review or something". This game makes no sense to me. It's a world full of vaguely Jar-Jar Binks-looking characters that live in some medieval fantasy world but talk in a... certain way? Let me try to explain: here's a simple sentence. "I'm going to take this over to there." The SnarfQuest translation: "I'm gonna take dis over dere." This is the exact same way I heard people talk on ROBLOX in 2010. If the dialogue wasn't too awkward, the voice acting is even worse. And then the puns... GOD, the puns... 3 minutes into the game you can talk to the character's father who is just full of endless fish puns. They don't really need to be there and nothing would be subtracted from the game if they were removed. I don't know if they were supposed to be funny or if they were intended to make us want to do a hard-shutdown on our PCs after seeing them (which is what I did the first time). I guess I could have withstood the bad dialogue, bad graphics, and bad voice acting if the game didn't run at 5 FPS. The only way I could get to a marginally playable …

I don't know about the world of Snarf Quest, but I know that this game sucks. Ugly graphics with ugly soundtrack with ugly puzzles with ugly gameplay. This game is stupid; and I am stupid for playing this game. I think I got it for free from someone, and I think it is definitely not worth my time. Don't ever think of buying this ♥♥♥♥. 2/10.

I enjoyed the puzzles and point-and-click style of the game that harken back to the games of yesteryear. Was the dialoague cheesy? Yes, of course--that's what the old SnarfQuest comics were like and I'd expect a game based on it to follow suit. Ultimately, it's a fun romp through the world of Snarf for any fan of the SnarfQuest comics.

I think the developer didn't support for this game anymore. It have downloading issue with linux system. On windows it working very well. If you are on linux, be sure to check before buy. Also the price is high for its gameplay, the game should be more long. Game story, sound and concept are nice. I will definitely buy the next episod if the game is more longer. I feel sorry for not recommending this game, but I have to do because of those issue.
