About Star Shelter
Star shelter is a space survival game built from the ground up for VR. You are stranded in a mysterious graveyard of abandoned ships, the only way out is to repair a broken spaceship.
You have to scavenge for materials and plants to repair and arm your spaceship.
Keep your oxygen, power, and hunger in the green. Grow plants, build solar panels and other objects to generate what you need.
Climb around the zero gravity but don't rely on your thrusters to much, they are fueled by the same oxygen you breathe.
Scavenge the wreckages of spaceships and be wary of hazards.

A broken mess. But a fun broken mess. It was enjoyable for what it's worth. And definitely has potential. If only it wasn't abandoned. If you can see past the broken parts of it all, you can definitely have fun. It's easy, and doesn't have much of a difficulty curve. Unless you try to fight the thingies that spawn when using the beacon. (Hint: Use your drone to fight them. But be warry of physics.)2 found this helpful
This game is super underappreciated, it's possibly my favorite survival/crafting game. Jetting around open space in zero G and pushing off surfaces is really satisfying and responsive. The game progression of building up your space station, your spacesuit, your sidearm, and into the endgame happens very organically and at a very reasonable pace. The difficulty is also on point, you're challenged and you'll learn some harsh lessons in early playthroughs; but you very quickly learn what problems to get ahead of and how to handle combat effectively. It's a perfect, bite-sized survival experience that makes excellent use of VR, I recommend it to anyone with a headset.
*IF ON VALVE INDEX - DO NOT PURCHASE* Game is currently broken. Upon finishing the intro, you will enter an escape pod and will be trapped. Given the $20 price tag, the fact this is still on sale and in a bundle is unacceptable. Tried for nearly 10 min. with every control combination I could use in-game. It is a very frustrating experience having a VR box locked to your headset position with no interactable elements functioning.

Played for almost 2 hours on my first session. Very relaxing game to play. Get floaty in space and harvest junk. Store the stuff before you die. I'm looking forward to expanding my space station when I get more resources. I'm glad I got this. I was expecting to just play for 1/2 hour - 40 minutes...didn't expect to be so entertained. No motion sickness either. I use a WMR Lenovo Explorer and everything worked great. The little 'start' button on the 6d0f controllers reloads the gun and/or opens the wrist storage for random things to save that don't get scrapped. I can see why reviews are like 'just let yourself starve', pretty funny. Food can be scrapped for bio mass, which is handy.
