About Starpath

✦ AI summary

Starpath is a deep space exploration game where you design and build your own functional starship, then navigate through scientifically accurate galaxies while managing oxygen, power, and life support systems. It strips away combat and arcade elements to deliver an authentic astronaut experience focused on discovery, survival, and the freedom to chart your own course through the infinite vacuum of space.

Have you ever dreamt of venturing out into deep space with nothing but your own spaceship filled with everything you need to survive a lifetime in space? Have you wondered how it feels to be a weightless astronaut and be the first human to step on an entirely unexplored planet.. or an entire galaxy? Will you find out if there is anyone else out there, or is it just an infinity of nothingness?

This is your chance to experience the interstellar journey of your dreams. Build your own spaceship, aim for the stars and engage your thrusters as this is a space game unlike other space games.

Starpath is a new kind of space game. It’s focused on the feeling of being in and exploring space. We are committed to giving you an authentic astronaut experience while still being focused on fun and creativity. There is no dogfighting, no space lasers, no fake gravity and no artificial space trading - it’s just you and your ship against the cold vacuum of space.

Uncover the Secrets of the Universe
You wake up on a space station with no knowledge of the situation or how long you have been there. The only thing you know is that you cannot return to earth. Will you follow the instructions you find on the screen or set out on your own journey? Discover derelict spacecraft and uncover their secrets. Be the first human to explore a new galaxy. Will you answer the age old question of if we are truly alone in this universe?

Design & Build Your Starship
  • Design and build the interstellar ship of your dreams where every button is pushable, every system customizable and every screen has a purpose.
  • Simple and powerful building system using various parts.
  • Make a cozy, livable and functional home for deep space voyages.
  • Make your ship a rotating van Braun wheel for artificial cylindrical gravity.
  • Design your own command deck cockpit.
  • Make sure your ship is air tight to hold an atmosphere and create pressure chambers in case of a hull breach for asteroid damage, and airlocks for EVAs.

Explore Deep Space
  • Set a course through the galaxy, find an orbit around a planet. Scan it for data, send out probes to collect samples and materials and slingshot your way to your next destination.
  • Experience the feeling of being weightless with full six degrees of freedom movement and momentum. Don’t start heading in the wrong direction without any way to get back or you will drift until the cold death of the universe.
  • Use your instruments to scan for derelict spacecrafts and asteroids to salvage them for materials, discover new technology and discover what happened to them.

Manage Your Ship & Stay Alive
  • Manage all your ships systems to keep your space station, and yourself, alive in the vacuum of space through solar panels, batteries, atmospheric control and electronics.
  • Keep your oxygen supply and food reserves full by planting and taking care of your interstellar greenhouse.
  • Perform EVAs build or repair damage from asteroid fields.

Features list
  • Fully playable both offline in singleplayer and co-op online multiplayer.
  • Discover derelicts crafts and locations to harvest materials and uncover their stories
  • Simple and powerful system for designing and building your own cozy and functional starship freely from various parts.
  • Retro aesthetic style mostly based on sci-fi from the 70s and 80s.
  • Maintain a functioning ship, an oxygen supply and nutrients to survive the cold vacuum of space.
  • Build your own airlocks to perform EVAs to fix your hull from asteroid damage.
  • Create a rotating von Braun ring for artificial gravity as there are no fake gravity generators.
  • Fly your starship through the solar system, the galaxy and beyond seamlessly using real world distances and sizes
  • Plot courses through the vastness of space, take orbit around planets and slingshot your way to another star system.
  • Scan planets for data, send out probes for samples and materials to develop your tech tree.
  • Scientifically correct physics. Perform burns to gain momentum and the only way to stop is to burn again so be sure to save fuel.
  • There is no up in space - Full six degrees of freedom in movement, both your character and your ship can move in any direction.
  • Cryo sleep to skip time and reach your destination faster, but set your course carefully and beware of asteroids
  • Control every aspect of your ship and life control systems through terminal computers, buttons and levers. Every button is usable and serves a purpose.
  • Build solar panels, nuclear reactors and batteries to manage power for all of your ship systems to function, but make sure to keep manual levers in case of a power outage.
  • In addition to vital ship functions, your terminal can be used for many other tasks and playing games as well.
  • Keep your oxygen supply and food reserves full by taking care of your greenhouse.
  • Salvage derelict spacecraft to harvest materials and uncover their stories.

Future
While we want to make this one of the most comprehensive space games out there there are certain features that won’t be in the first release of the game. We want to get the game in your hands as soon as possible, and keep growing and improving the game for a long time. With your continued support we are committed to:
  • Land seamlessly on desolate planets. Do you have what it takes to make it back up to your ship?
  • Use vehicles to explore planet surfaces, gather samples and survive harsh environments of undiscovered planets.
  • Fully simulated solar systems and galaxy movements
  • Official mod support
