Gameplay
Descend floors 5 minutes at a time by utilizing your close combat and mobility skills until you come face-to-face with the final boss. Choose your weapon and character from a wide cast of unique options and dive into Standard or Blitz mode.
Slay enemies to level up and pick abilities from a randomized pool, with each run resulting in unique synergies. Earn scales from your runs and use them to unlock weapons, runes, and soundtracks to customize the way you play.

Plot
As a sushi chef, you're responsible for the death of many sea creatures. One day, after decapitating a fish, a demon emerged - summoning the spirits of all the other dead creatures with it. The food is finally fighting back... from beyond the grave. You and the cast of other characters are here to exterminate the lethal ghosts and restore peace to the restaurant.
Meet Sue
Sue was born and raised in the rough streets of Yokohama, where survival meant being constantly on guard and never showing weakness. From a young age, she learned how to fend for herself and relied on her quick wit and formidable fighting skills to get by.
As she grew older, Sue turned to a life of crime, using her natural charisma and intelligence to climb the ranks of the local yakuza. But despite her success, she always felt unfulfilled, yearning for something more meaningful in her life.
It wasn't until she met a mysterious old man, a descendent of the mythical Kitsune, that Sue began to see a different path for herself. The old man, a skilled sushi chef with unrivaled talent, saw something special in Sue and took her under his wing - teaching her the art of sushi making and helping her to channel her energy and passion into something positive.
Under the old man's tutelage, Sue became a skilled sous-chef, working in the heart of Tokyo. Though she still struggles with the demons of her past, she has to push them aside to deal with the demons of the present.

It starts off promising enough, but having played the full release, I just don't know why you would play this over almost any other competent release in the new genre. The graphics are neat, and there are a lot of interesting things presented - talents on level up that unlock a new set of talents, choosing your starting basic weapon, the watering thing is neat and the building stuff seems interesting. The problem is, you don't get to interact with it at all. You choose from 4 options on level up, and that includes "potions" which are basically temporary buffs. The pool of talents is MASSIVE, and not weighted (as far as I can see). You get 2 rerolls per floor, which amounts to about 8 rerolls per run, which is basically useless for actually trying to do "a build". If you choose one of those "class" talents that unlock more options (mechanic, ki, etc.) it gets even worse. Basically all the choices are worthless because, like all these genre of games, you need synergy and multiplicative power to survive, which means just take the most basic, passive stat upgrades, and the basic fish summon skills, and do the same thing every run because everything else requires a staggering amount o…1 found this helpful

[b][h1]Sue Shi Survival[/h1][/b]Sue Shi Survival is a very fun, fast-paced bullet heaven: which has number of different characters; weapons/upgrades, meta progression, difficulty skulls (run modifiers) and 20 torment levels (more difficulty modifiers). It has more than enough content for it's price. It is one of my favourite games to come out of the bullet-heaven genre, it's unfortunate it hasn't gotten the attention it deserves. [b][h2]Gameplay[/h2][/b]Sue Shi Survival doesn't feel to me like any bullet-heaven that came before it. You start a run by first selecting a character, there are 17 characters in the game unlocked by completing achievements; each character has a different active and passive ability, making each different to play with. You then select 1 of 15 melee weapons that are unlocked with meta-currency, they each have different stats, with the main difference being their passive ability which range anywhere from doing extra damage to bosses to giving you extra bonuses under certain conditions. The melee weapons in this game use an arc attack, each have different values for their Damage, Arc angle, Reach length and Swingspeed, this was the first bullet-heaven I saw …1 found this helpful
solid lil roguelike, good amount of builds to explore, easy fun :)
Overall very solid survivor like game with a very fun and unique theme going for it. The gameplay has a level of both skill and luck reliance to succeed, but also gives you enough resources to work around them both. With the full release Sue Shi Survival has definitely addressed some of the shortcomings it had in the past during EA. Each character is unique in how they play, and each weapon you can utilize their own strengths though some are still imo better than others. If you come into this from say Vampire Survivors, SSS WILL beat you down as the early runs are a bit brutal until you get persistent upgrades. But once you start getting the hang of the mechanics and have a good build going the rush of power is so great. While I would have still recommended before during EA when some aspects were still rocky, messing around finally with the full release further cements my recommendation. You just need to have some patience going in. Sincerely hope this game can get more attention as it's absolutely an overlooked gem atm. 4/29/24: Still imo an overlooked gem of the genre; sincerely hpoe somehow this gets a surge of awareness. pro - cute style , immediate fun , finished game out of early access neutral - not so deep but I love all different characters, abilities and builds in here , very enjoyable gameplay cons - no seaweeds
