About Sulphur Memories: Alchemist

An alchemist. A former apothecary, now chased by inquisitors, and tangled in a Faustian deal. A town dweller unfit for adventure, on a quest to outsmart the Devil.
No giant sword to cleave through enemies. No magic powers to destroy them with a snap of your fingers.
Just your craftsmanship, and your ingenuity: the greatest weapon there is.
Sulphur Memories provides a classic turn-based experience of a traditional roguelike with less hack'n'slash and more immersive sim.

Mysteries of alchemy are at your service

Turn all kinds of raw items into useful tools and potions. The unique alchemical system allows you a wide variety of options when it comes to crafting. A potion asking for something verdant can be brewed from moss, leaves, or herbs. One asking for something sinister would work with a bat wing or an old metal chain. Whatever you find, can be used in some way. There is no such thing as "useless loot"!

Knowledge is power

To progress, you find and read books, then assemble the knowledge gathered into new recipes. As your arsenal grows, so does your collection of lore. Not to forget about your own knowledge as a player.

A world of stories

The world is generated anew for every game, and provides endless opportunity for exploration. The areas are distinct and varied, and each one has a small story of its own. From abandoned farms to bewitched woods - intriguing, even if unwelcoming.

First ever ASMR roguelike

Rains and storms, sounds of wildlife, crackling of the fireplace, and flickering torches, with chill ambient music. All to immerse you into the vivid world, both visually and audially.

Be creative

There is always more than one way to overcome an obstacle. A locked door? Pick the lock, blow up the door, or just kick it very hard, but be aware of traps. An iron grate? Melt the metal, or teleport to the other side.
And when it comes to monsters, you could, of course, fight fair. But you don't have to, and you really shouldn't. You are smart, not strong. So learn their weaknesses, exploit the terrain, and overall use the world's interactivity to your advantage.

All the classic RPG trappings

Dungeon crawling and looting what's not nailed down is good, but we know RPGs are about more than that. Expansive dialogue trees, colourful character, meaningful choices and quests with multiple solutions are waiting for you.

I was sucked into this game, because I'm thinking of making a similar one for some time, so I could have some inspiration. It's blend of exploring, survival, roguelike, and alchemy actually gives the feel of discovery a little bit Waiting for new updates or a new game from the developer!

A unique and very enjoyable roguelike even in its early state. Control scheme is a little awkward, but once you get used to the hotkeys its actually pretty smooth, and the mouse controls are nice as well. The game centers around gathering ingredients to process into different reagents that can be made into potions. The potions let you burn things, rust metal, banish ghosts, and many other interactive effects. You also gather different types of knowledge from books and notes which can be used to research new recipes. The game has a very pleasant loop and atmosphere, and I'm very excited to see what more updates will bring. Highly recommend.

Updating my review to tentatively recommend this game. If you like slow and hard grinds, which is not exactly typical of the genre, then this might be for you. A lot of your ability to get things efficiently and quickly is left to RNG rather than a well-paced early game. If you like the grindy and crafting focused elements of Cataclysm DDA, or hardcore turn-based games where a single bite from a mundane and common enemy can spell unpreventable death if you haven't prepared and planned for this eventuality to happen eight times in the same day, then you will probably enjoy this.

It is a cool game, some of the road block require your to go over the lore and potions. Answer is not directly written in description. Instead, it made you think what if I apply item A at this situation. I have not finsihed the game yet, but it is a fun one indeed. Especially, this is done by a single developer. you will be amazed about the content.
