I don't leave very many reviews. But after only a few hours I feel the need to. I am absolutely in love with this game! The gun play feels so good even though its a 2d, it just feels so damn good! Every gun I've picked up feels unique. I feel as if I am being challenged from the jump and I like that. As you can tell I don't write many reviews, but this is a must buy! I love the darker humor. The only thing I wish the game had was dialogue/voice acting.
SULFUR has been one of my favorite indie shooters for quite a while now. It's a game that's able to mix this fantastical, spiritual world with basic concepts and explore them to the maximum depth a small studio can handle. The gameplay is fair, for the most part, the guns are quite unique while still filling their own niches, and the enemy variety is vastly better than most shooters. The story, while it may be a bit filled with holes and drowned in mystique, it still manages to be compelling enough to listen to characters and pay attention. It's well loved, received updates on a semi-consistent basis since launch, the end game could use a bit more fleshing out, and certain enemies could stand to be balanced differently (I hate enemies with invulnerability that make me wait in a game that seems to be designed around fast TTK); but overall its fun, it has a lot of crazy food, and characters that make me smile.
I like to shoot and loot and mod my guns. This game is good for that and the dev is cool.

Healing items dont do enough. Guns are kind of lame and dont drop enough. You lose your best equipment when your healing is too poor to recover you past one single hit of damage. Overall gets boring really fast and there isnt any interest to go past the town.
