Sunset Drive 1986 is an arcade driving game inspired by 80s nostalgic themes, made by a solo dev.
Drive on an endless highway, complete missions to gain money and upgrade your car with multiple game modes, including; Free Ride, drive the way you like without a rush. Timed Mode, try to get away on the highway as far as possible without falling below the increasing speed limit, and Distance Rush, drive longest possible distance without letting timer run out.
Experience a relaxing driving experience with neon lights and chilling retro music. Or upgrade your car and experience extremely high speeds with high tempo "outrun" style music in flowing highway traffic.
Welcome to an endless highway in 1986 with neon lights and retro music.

Honestly everything I wanted out of a game so simple. Complete difficulty customization, bright colors, and cute lil radio features. Cruise with traffic or max out your close-cut combos and watch funny number go up. You don't get much else, given how limited the customization items are, you can only grind so long, but its a fantastic zone out tool. Other driving games are so focused on destruction or racing in pretty grungy settings. I really appreciate this game just letting you do whatever you like and still being nice to look at. Honestly the only thing I could hope for is someday seeing it opened to steam workshop, or just a wider mod scene for this game in general, so we can add our own maps/music/custom items without bothering the dev. If you aren't a sucker for repetition you'll get tired of the map real fast, but for the game being free I really can't complain!
