✦ AI summary

Super Grower is a short but engaging arcade game with responsive mouse controls and satisfying core gameplay that cleverly balances growing your character with dodging enemies. Players praise its fun mechanics, smooth execution, and variety in level design, but consistently criticize the brevity—most finish the 40 levels in under 20-30 minutes, making the price tag feel steep for the content offered.

Fun time sink, takes like 20 min or less to complete.
Dodge'em-up where you grow when catching power ups.
Note that there's a free version available on browser. Another nice and short Nannings game. Super Grower is best played with mouse (but can be played with gamepad). In each level your task is to eliminate enemies by grabbing power-ups that grow you (a square block) making it harder to dodge the enemies but making them vulnerable to you. Most levels are rather easy. I was stuck in one or two for a few minutes. Having completed the game, you can tackle the Endless mode to compete for high scores on Steam leaderboards. Endless mode essentially replays some of the more difficult levels until you fail. There was about 20 minutes of gameplay in the 40 levels.
The Steam and free versions only little differences
The free version felt a little easier for me, since playing in a window allows cheating by teleporting the square from an edge to another when playing with a mouse. Otherwise, there was no notable difference in performance between the versions. The Steam version adds technically unlimited amount of gameplay in the Endless mode …

Super Grower is a simple minimalist Unity based "action" game where you move a square around and must grow it into a larger square. I'd say this was an asset flip but I don't think even Unity Assets are available so barebones and minimalist. This is pretty lazy stuff. Regardless, no proper PC graphics, just 2D minimalist squares, this barely counts as a game, I don't recommend it.

You know what? This little game is fun. After playing a couple of terrible little indie titles, I decided to fire this one up, and I'm glad that I did. It restored some of my hope in these simple indie arcade titles. The gameplay is mostly really smooth, and mouse control is responsive. It's a nice mix of action and fairly straightforward tactics (or, easy puzzle-solving if you like to look at it that way) that's actually pleasing to play. The levels have variety, and new concepts are introduced throughout to force you to change things up a little bit in your playstyle. My only real complaint? It's entirely too short. At only 40 levels, I blasted through them at around 17 minutes. It needs at least three times this much to justify the $1.99 US price tag. Besides, a couple of the concepts introduced late in the game are only used on a couple of levels. Bulk up the out-of-the-box content, and maybe add a simple level editor for users (to be able to publish on Steam Workshop preferably), and you could have a real winner in this little game. It certainly was fun to play. As it is, I can recommend it if it's on a significant sale or you find it in a bundle. We'll call it 6/10 with a p…

A small game but a fun one with a really satisfying core gameplay loop. Don't expect it to take more than a half hour of your time but it has an idea and builds it out without getting scale. Best played with the mouse.

Super Grower is a small-scale arcade experience developed and published by NanningsGames that demonstrates how a simple gameplay concept can become surprisingly engaging when executed with confidence and precision. The game strips away complicated systems, elaborate storytelling, and detailed visuals in favor of pure arcade design focused entirely on movement, survival, and gradual growth. Players control a tiny geometric shape trapped inside compact arenas filled with hostile enemies and dangerous projectiles. By collecting glowing objects scattered across the stage, the player grows larger and stronger until they are finally capable of consuming enemies that once posed a threat. It is a concept that sounds almost overly simplistic on paper, yet the game manages to create an addictive gameplay loop driven by tension, fast reflexes, and satisfying progression. One of the first things that stands out about Super Grower is how quickly it introduces players to its mechanics. There are no lengthy tutorials or unnecessary interruptions. Within seconds, the player is already dodging enemy attacks, collecting resources, and learning how growth directly changes the flow of gameplay. At th…
