Easy to pick up and learn. Delivers some easy puzzles and a bit of exploration. Was fun for a short period of time.2 found this helpful
"Grow Big (or Go Home): Ultimate Edition" is a 2D pixelcrap action/puzzle game with an indoor gardening theme because that's what gamers were crying out for, not. The story involves you, as Bruce, a talented gardener, navigating various locations and eras to care for plants. What do you do in the game? You use tools like a watering can and reflective mirror in a series of levels, with some rather pointless and boring arcade-like top down action. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire…2 found this helpful
It grew very Big... Very Very Big.2 found this helpful
I didn't find it enjoyable. Controls are clunky. The "puzzle" design is more about managing several different mechanics at once, and becoming stressed over dealing with all of them. I ran in a few minor bugs. I decided to stop playing after finishing the first set of levels on Hard Mode. I couldn't push myself to finish the game.
В целом, 'Grow Big (or Go Home): Ultimate Edition' — отличная игра для тех, кто ищет простую и увлекательную аркаду, чтобы развеять скуку.
I like the design of this game, but I struggled with it from even the tutorial, in which, even after playing it 3 times, I couldn't get the plant even close to fully grown. Trying to juggle the timing of filling the watering can and moving the mirror took way too much thought, with no helpful outcomes :( I played the next few levels in the first section, but I consistently got 2.5-3 stars, and I felt like there wasn't a way for me to succeed.
