"Sword Tale : Lost Excalibur" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Thailand. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This is a really unpolished VR tech demo from the Thai students, a basic first person brawler mangling anime and Arthurian legend together badly. It's a clunky mess that doesn't work well, and of course, as a student project, will never be finished, fixed or polished to an acceptable standard. The graphics aren't great, low poly, low qu…1 found this helpful
It does work in VR with UEVR. But without controller support it's not worth playing. I don't play keyboard games in 2025. I stopped that in the early 2000s.1 found this helpful
I rate this game 3/10. The graphics is good and the story is average at best. The combat feels very stiff and non-fluent. Enemy attacks are almost unreadable. Everyone's attacks are just stiff instant sword wings. I wish the dialogues were controllable, or at least voiced. I'm not a very fast reader. Some dialogue goes by too fast before I could finish reading them. Too many grammatical errors in most dialogues.
I mean the game was kinda boringggg but it's fine on paper it has potential! PS:THE FUNNIEST $#!+ WAS THE WAY IT WAS TRANSLATED.... DAMN THAT MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD
