Tex-Mechs

If this were a full game, I would absolutely buy it. I think I said "f**k yeah!" like 10 times in the 15 minutes that I played. My only complaints are that it is SUPER short, there are no achievements, and the one that actually bothered me a bit: the boss shows up... and you don't get to fight it. It has a short cutscene... there is a model for it... but the game ends right when it shows up with a "to be continued". LAME! I would have been satisified with a weak boss fight over NO boss fight. Oh well, the rest of the game rules. If you have 15 minutes and like some FPS mech action, check this one out. Definitely above average for a student game.

A short but great game about shooting monstrous scorpions from a giant and very opwerful mech with 2 independantly equippable and controllable arms. What more could you ask for?

ONLY play this if you want to support a college project. This is NOT a full game, you only get ONE level and you can beat the whole thing in about 15 minutes. It is a college game design class project, not a game for retail release!! That being said, the concept is pretty cool for a student project. You drive around in a big stompy mech, blasting evil spiders. You have three weapons to choose from: pistol, flamethrower, and blaster... but really there is only one choice: the blaster. The blaster goes KABOOM and is a one-hit-kill. The pistol takes four shots to kill a single spider plus your aim needs to be perfect. The flamethrower is fun, but not as strong as the blaster. Controls are simple and intuitive. Map design is a bit clunky, but passable. Sound and music are just okay. Enemy and mech designs are just okay. If the class, or future classes, would pick up where this class left off and expand on this project, make it into a proper game, clean up the visual design elements a bit, then I would recommend it. But in its current state it is just TOO SHORT to be worth downloading. Even though it is free. But as a "proof of concept class project" it is alright.

Overall Thumbs up. Would like to see the resolution choice for 7680 x 2160, but to make it playable for me since it was so stretched out I had to use the universal 4 unreal unlocker to change the FOV to 115 deg.

Игра "Tex-Mechs" – это адреналиновый коктейль из взрывного экшена и глубокой тактической кастомизации. Садиться в кабину огромного меха, оснащенного смертоносным арсеналом, и крушить все на своем пути – это фантастическое ощущение. Возможность детальной настройки каждого аспекта меха, от брони до вооружения, позволяет создать машину смерти, идеально соответствующую вашему стилю игры. Сюжет, хоть и не хватает звезд с неба, достаточно увлекателен, чтобы мотивировать к прохождению миссий, а разнообразие карты и заданий не дают заскучать. Однако, стоит отметить, что графически игра немного устарела, хотя и выглядит вполне приемлемо. Самое главное – это сам процесс сражения. Бои динамичные, напряженные и невероятно зрелищные. Правильный выбор оружия, позиционирование и использование окружающего ландшафта – ключ к победе. Если вы любите мехов, взрывы и кастомизацию, то "Tex-Mechs" – это определенно игра для вас. Рекомендую!
