Mech Rage is a deliberately old-school top-down shooter that leans heavily into familiar sci-fi action tropes, offering a compact and combat-focused experience built around constant movement and sustained firepower. Developed and published by Drageus Games S.A., the game casts players as a mech pilot trapped aboard an infested spaceship, tasked with holding back waves of alien invaders while the rest of the crew evacuates. From the outset, it makes no attempt to disguise its influences, instead embracing a straightforward “clear the rooms and survive” structure that recalls classic arcade shooters and twin-stick action games. Gameplay revolves around piloting a heavily armed mech through a series of interconnected ship interiors, viewed from a top-down perspective. Movement and aiming are handled separately, encouraging constant repositioning to avoid enemy attacks while maintaining pressure with your weapons. The core arsenal consists of a primary weapon with unlimited ammo and a selection of secondary weapons that deal higher damage but rely on limited resources. This creates a simple but effective risk-reward balance, as players must decide when to conserve powerful shots and w…
Short, basic top down shooter. Clone of Robokill. Controls are a bit clunky, there's not that many enemies or weapons to choose from but its fine for what it is. If you like this sort of game maybe pick it up on sale. Not worth more than a quid or two.
Pretty mid game. Might be inspired by the Robokill flash games. Even for $10 you can probably find something that's more fun.
The price is exaggerated. It is a complicated and simple game. Maybe in an offer of less than 1 dollar I recommend it
This game is NOT very good. You move around like you are on skates. Traps are very touchy, triggering if you breathe next to them. This is not a modern game; it's a game from 30 years ago. You earn money but can only upgrade your two primary weapons' damage impact, not ammo, not armor, not anything else. You cannot sell old upgrades. Why was this game recommended to me?
Basically it feels like a college final project more than a polished game. It's functional, but it doesn't feel balanced, nothing reacts with impact, and everything in general just feels...undeveloped. Even at $0.99 it just wasn't worth it.
