The Bell Echoes

An incredibly well made hidden gem. I am an avid fan of strategy games and roguelikes. This game is absolutely fantastic and so in depth for character building. Every character has many build paths to go down, with items completely changing how you'd play them. For example one of the characters you begin the game with is specialised in wind based attacks. He can be built into becoming a character that pushes enemies around to do collision damage and placing them on wind infused tiles does bonus damage based on his magical scaling. He can have other builds where he gains bonus damage from being on higher elevation to enemies, so he can be safe from melee attacks while he kills enemies from a distance. There are so many ways to build each character and I implore you to give this game a chance (it even has a demo), you won't be disappointed. Much like Chrono Ark (one of the best roguelikes you might have never played so please check that out too!), you get shards every time you win a battle / elite battle, which you can use to upgrade your characters (this is where the roguelike comes in), you can upgrade different skills to find synergies for that particular character or build him/…

A very nice little game that gets the old grey matter working. I'm not normally a fan of such storylines but I can't help reading through this one as the game progresses. If there were any slight negatives to speak of it would be that there is still a little English translation required and personally I don't really feel there's a great deal of synergy between the 3 different party members, although that said, it could just be I'm approaching the battles incorrectly. 8/10 from me for an enjoyable and inexpensive game.
