The Butler

I bought this game because I thought it contained Oscan Giannino screaming but in reality it's a boring mess where you have no idea where the hell you are going, with a hideous flashlight that has a miniscule light beam. You have to understand that nobody gives a rat's ass about the boring story if the gameplay is agonizingly slow and "empty".

I've rarely ever seen a game series where each entry is better than the one before. The Butler was probably one out of two games in my life that I wanted to play with closed eyes. The style, the scares, the whole atmosphere is hitting so hard. Especially anything with something as simple as sheet ghosts. They are always nailing it for me when it comes to 'I don't want to play on anymore and am about to remove my headphones then LEAVE'. The story is great, too. Thank you for adding a link to a full explanation in the main menu. It's a little masterpiece when you are connecting all the different layers of the plot. It all made perfect sense in the end and the series played like being part of a phenomenally good and scary horror movie. Can't wait to hear more from this dev in the future.

What an amazing game, I started the series with Ethel then went to Claire which are both awesome games, The Butler did not disappoint, the story line is amazing, when you can put a good story line in with a game that is full of jump scares and intense moments you know you have a good game. The game is non-stop from start to finish with things that grab your attention. Even if I anticipated there would be a jump scare it still scared the dickens out of me. I would absolutely play more games from this creator.

This is the first game I have played that as actually motivated me to write a review on Steam, and rightly so, it is well deserved. If you are looking for more from your standard cheap jump scare horror game, look no further. This game combines an amazingly drafted storyline with beautiful graphics, voice overs, and hidden secrets that will constantly have your jaw on the floor as you unravel the secrets within. The game has tastefully placed jump scares that fit perfectly in the storyline. Just when you think you have the story figured out, think again. The Butler focuses heavily on attention to detail, rather than difficult puzzles. Prepare to immerse yourself in one of this year's most beautifully crafted horror games, guaranteed to have you wanting to play it again for more of the "ah-ha" moments you missed the first time. This game is a must play for any horror enthusiast.

Ugh, so I bought this game first. Found out about Ethel and Claire, so I bought those too. Got through Ethel without a single problem - it was great. Really enjoyed everything about it. Haven't left a review there yet because I do that at the same time I post the video of my gameplay. Anyway, Claire made me angry. I spent an extra, like, 40 minutes trying to put the statues on the fireplace and they just kept falling through. Left a review, dev said hold the button and not click. Dumb. Didn't matter, already refunded. Then I watched a playthrough of it just so I could get the lore to play this game and found out I was at the WRONG FIREPLACE ENTIRELY. Wasn't specific, had no idea. Whatever. And now THIS. It starts out VERY promising, I was SUPER excited to get into it. Very creepy, spooky things happening, graphics are great, all that good stuff. Come time to get into the Office and my first time going at it, the menu with the hammer got glitched on my screen. Wouldn't go away, no matter what I did. Ugh, annoying, sure, but its whatever, it happens. So I restart and finally get into the basement which is just wildly and excessively LARGE. Make my way through to find out I need to H…
