The action takes place in present. The protagonist, Jack, was found not far from Memority hospital, where an experimental drug called Rammex had been developed. It was created to help patients recover their memories. But the hospital was attacked. The drug was stolen, and all the staff and patients were killed. Explosion and conflagration destroyed a part of the hospital. And Jack was the only survivor. As a result of a strong explosion, Jack lost some of his memory, he remembers only small fragments of what have happened. Jack is helped by Dr. Romanov – the chief scientist of Memority hospital and the mastermind behind the drug. During the whole game, the protagonist will be staying in a hospital bed, and all the gameplay will occur in his memories restored with Rammex. The game world is divided into two parts: the real world, where the hero is confined to a hospital bed, and the world of his memories, where he will spend most of his time. The Butterfly Sign also has non-linear dialogues, and all your decisions will affect the outcome of the story at the very end.
Necessary Evil
The Butterfly Sign is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, Jack, walking through the alley of his own memory, becomes the eyes and ears of Dr. Romanov. The drug "Rammex" helps him do it. The main character tries to recover the fragments of his memory in order to find the ones responsible for the attack on Memority. Hovewer, the further he goes, the more he realizes that everything that happened was the necessary evil...

Memority had been developing "Rammex" to help sick patients recover their lost memory. According to the Memority scientists, "Rammex" was able to quickly restore human nerve cells. It would have been a real revolution in medicine, a cure for many illnesses. But turning over the pages of his own mind and investigating the incident, Jack begins to realize how unreal his world is, and what a beautiful lie all this is...
Wreck of my Warship
In the end, to find the one responsible for the attack on Memority, Jack has to collect all the pieces of his memory together. He goes to the dam, where he last saw the mercenaries, but instead finds only one person who jumps down from the dam trying to commit suicide. Realizing that he has already been there, and the answer is in his head, Jack follows the self-murderer and jumps, because it’s the only chance to remember ...

The Butterfly Sign is shaping up to be a really engaging first-person detective story. The way the narrative unfolds is one of its strongest points for this game — it's told through fragmented memories, subtle clues, and pieces of the protagonist's past that you slowly put together as you explore. I love how the game makes you feel like a detective: examining environments, piecing together documents, objects, and environmental storytelling to build the storyline. There's no hand-holding; it rewards careful observation and logical thinking, which makes every discovery feel satisfying and rewarding. So far, the pacing feels just right—not rushed, but steadily building tension and curiosity. I'm only early on, however my wild guess is that the older doctor might be the one who snapped, and the younger version of that doctor is the one we're experiencing in first person, (reliving memories through a fractured lens). But hey, it's just a suspicion at this point, and part of the fun is finding out! Positive vibes all around for fans of thoughtful, narrative-driven investigation games. Looking forward to the rest! The Butterfly Sign is a very mediocre first person adventure game. Control a detective in a surreal, drug infused memory trip to solve the puzzle of the first chapter of this mystery. Or at least, that's what it looks like. Don't let appearances decieve you. This is slapped together from a bunch of Unreal engine assets... badly. Alt + tab causes the game to become unresponsive to input, so it's largely unplayable due to that flaw, unacceptable by todays standards. It's buggy, glitchy, and despite the veneer of authenticity that Unreal gives the game, the quality is so bad that it's not worth the bother of downloading, even if you get this in a cheap bundle.2 found this helpful
If you play at 1920x1080 resolution the game crashes so you have to play 1366x768 resolution. You can press Alt Enter for full screen. There are bugs with the menus like the cursor dosnt match up to the text which can be frustrating,. The game itself is very well done with voiceover and you can see the protagonists legs and feet when walking and running which is good. You can see your shadow on the wall which is great. Puzzles arent too bad and coming up with the solutions of how events happened isnt too hard to deduct. Short game. Nice graphics. There is a part 2 to this but the downside is its exactly the same game no changes according to others. Worth getting if on sale. Horror elements. No enemies but do get horror events that take place inside the asylum. Only worth buying if on sale. Game does stuff up which is annoying like when you login to the PCs you cant logout and nor move your character so you have to exit the game. This game is Full of annoying bugs that were never fixed but if you can get through without the glitches then good game.1 found this helpful
Janky, broken, unfinished turd. I wouldn't refund a two buck title as a rule, but I dislike the idea of someone benefiting from having excrement such as this on spot sale for impulse purchases. Apparently there's a slightly tweaked build on sale named under the hilariously fitting moniker of "Human Error", and I don't think even the paid reviews gave it a thumbs-up.1 found this helpful
