The Echo Paradox

The Echo Paradox is an indie walking simulator with mild sci-fi / horror elements. In this game you start in an underground secret facility where you enter a portal and travel to various realms. In these realms the goal is to collect weird alien keys that look like little pyramids. The realms include a farmhouse with grey aliens, a winter village with a skinwalker, a medival village with cultists, and a christmas house with Krampus. (Yes you read that right...). The game takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete and another 30 minutes to clean up achievements and discover a small hidden "Backrooms" level. + The game is light hearted and fun at times. It doesn't take itself seriously. + The UFOs in the first level are fun to watch. +/- There is somewhat of an interesting story, but it is not explained well. - The game is low budget and it shows. - The environments are nonsensical. It seems like the developer bought some random assets and threw them together to make a game. Krampus? Really? Was he on sale?! - The aliens in the first level look ridiculous. - The sound design is cheap and below average. - No interesting puzzles to solve. Very cheap and low budget, but…

Had high hopes for this game, but I don't like it. Spent hour walking around in circles in the snow in the woods with no idea what to do. Two lights and a raggedy building you can't interact with anything in it. I'm bored. There was no story buildup or anything. Just go here, go there and go to sleep. BOOOOOOO !

Decent little horror game. At some point my flashlight stopped working though.

This game is unplayable. Frame rate literally bounces like a yoyo. Can't even get the settings to apply the configurations. Would've refunded it but it was sitting on my shelf for too long. The least the developer could do is patch the game. Absolute disgrace.

It's ok. I was excited about playing it since there's not a lot of game relating to ufos and aliens. The more I played, the more I realized it had so much potential to be a greater game than I was playing. By the end, I left unsatisfied with all the worlds I visited. It was not enough and very little actual gameplay or getting to know the mutiversal worlds I visited besides walking around and finding some artifacts to return to the homebase. Apparently, in this universe, there are co-workers who had gone before me to set up the home-portal, capture entities, or do other things. I feel like playing as those people would have been more fun than whatever it was I was doing. I still recommend it to see some of these worlds, just know that you'll feel somewhat indifferent with the experience as a whole. Plays ok on steam deck with some framerate drops between 15-45 fps on low or medium setting.

Solid short-mid long alien horror game. I thought it was pretty good. Would love to see more, also need to fix the aliens disappearing into thin air but that actually cracked me up.
