What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the game's unique psychological horror concept centered around VR headsets within the game, calling it an intense and creative experience with excellent sound design and clever perception-based scares. However, major concerns include a graphic and unwarned animal death that feels exploitative, significant bugs and performance issues that can prevent saving, and some minor gameplay annoyances like distracting healing animations.
overall, i’d say this game is definitely worth buying. i’ll try to keep this review pretty surface-level and spoiler-free: the game offers a good amount of content and will easily keep you entertained for at least 10 hours. there’s plenty of variety in both the story and the environments, and the story itself has more depth than i initially expected. some sections are genuinely really cool and creatively designed, and the puzzles are well made too. you also have to keep in mind that the game isn’t perfect, but honestly, what game on steam is? i think sometimes people are way too critical and focus too much on every little flaw instead of simply enjoying the overall experience. i can definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a longer horror experience with a good atmosphere, interesting story, solid puzzles, and enough variety to keep things fresh.1 found this helpful
Spoiler-FREE: Good game. Don't expect ONE specific kind of game that ought to be exactly what you wish for it to be. Be a little flexible and allow it to let yourself get journeyed through it :-) PS: nvm my playing time - much afk1 found this helpful
A.I.L.A. is a masterclass in psychological horror that proves Brazilian indie studios can punch well above their weight, even if it suffers from some technical jank. Developed by Pulsatrix Studios, the premise is brilliant: you play as a game tester for an advanced AI that tailors horrifying scenarios based on your deepest fears. Instead of being confined to a single location, the game acts like a dark anthology of terror. One moment you are surviving a gritty cult scenario, and the next you are fending off medieval undead. The atmosphere is where A.I.L.A. truly shines. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the environmental graphics are stunning, and the sound design creates a deeply oppressive, liminal environment. The developers rely heavily on genuine psychological tension and a feeling of vulnerability rather than throwing cheap jump scares at the screen. However, the game isn't without its flaws. The ambitious scope seems to have come at the cost of polish. Even on a high-end system, you might experience frame rate drops, stuttering, and the occasional crash. Furthermore, the combat can feel incredibly stiff; managing weapons and dealing with inconsistent hit registration can someti…

Absolutely - this is a great experience so far!
It's an okay game overall, it has it's issues like some items being a pain to pick up cause you can't look down far enough, but it was fine. 6.5/10
