First off the game is free so give it a try. It was fun at points and includes a variety of music, but there are some design choices that baffle me, 1 your heath is how big your character is and the game doesn't tell you that, 2 the difficulty in the settings changes how fast bullets move and this can make some moves harder on an easier difficulty. Also despite what the game says you can die in chill mode, 3 The random selection of attack does not let you get into a flow state.
Fun idea and interesting concept, however, I stopped playing quite early because there is an annoying bug with the dpad movement where every so often my character will start going in one direction even when I am not inputting that direction. I have to release all inputs for my character to stay still, then I regain control over movement. I might play more if this is fixed, but the last update was a while ago so I doubt it will. Anyway, I'm sure it's a fun game otherwise and if you are not specifically a dpad controller player, give it a try (why not, its free).
"The Flow Experience" is a really badly made 2D minimalist, well, it's one of those games where they can't work out how to make decent gameplay, but remember Dance Dance Revolution? Let's jank that into a bullet hell type game and that will surely go viral and we'll be famous! (Spoiler: They did not become famous. Nobody wanted this) This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy" and looks bad as a result of their lack of interest in doing their job properly. Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than g…
Very cool game! Also thanks for the native Linux support :)
