The Happy Hereafter

It could have been a nice cosy game, but instead it is a slow game where you have to wait for the next quest before you can move forward, because if you do move forward independently, when you eventually get a quest for something you have already researched, you won't be able to finish the quest and therefore will be stuck and will have to restart the game.

[h1][b]Boring and Buggy Casual Game[/b][/h1] [h3][b]What this game is:[/b][/h3] It is a casual resources management game with a sort of Halloween theme. [h3][b]How does it work?[/b][/h3] You have to build your village, unblocking different zones on the map in order to get some resources. You get villagers, buildings with uses (houses, circus, trading post, mines, farms, etc.), and treasures that will provide money. You need different combinations of gold, resources of various types (wood, stone, ore, fruits, crystals, etc.) to build your village units, so you have to accumulate all these resources in your warehouses. You are micro managing your villagers in order to get more resources, and get requests that will provide you with some bonuses upon completion. [h3][b]How does it perform?[/b][/h3] The game is easy to play but is not very clear on how you do some things. You can finish it by maxing all buildings and getting all villagers, but some requests are impossible to fulfill because the resources you need may not have appeared in your game. I died in this game and now find real life boring — napping with ghosts beats my morning coffee every time.

Cute cheap relaxing city-builder with fixed progression, limited depth, charming visuals, gentle pace, disappointing ending.

it is a fun and short game not hard at all easy to pick up and when you beat the game just put it away does not have a high replay so just play it once

A cute and extremely casual city sim. It's nice if you just want to chill. It's impossible to lose because there are no time constraints, just some tasks to fulfill at your leisure. Your zombies don't even need food because they can apparently just subsist off of "fun" once you build a circus. For me, the menu elements usually covered some parts of the map, which was annoying because it made some areas inaccessible, but one time, without me changing the graphics settings, it didn't do that, so I'm not sure what's going on. It's an old game. The Happy Hereafter is very similar to The Promised Land, except that The Promised Land is much better designed in virtually all aspects, so I felt a bit disappointed with The Happy Hereafter. Also, the ending was so bad it made me laugh. Just an anti-climactic, roughly five-second cutscene of drawings, then "THE END" flashes on the screen and you're redirected to a popup asking if you want to restart the game. Oh well, it's cheap and it's a nice, chill game to relax for a few hours.
