"The Informant Chronicles" is an asset flip made with the godawful 001 Game Creator construction kit. The game construction kit that's giving GameMaker Studio a good challenge in the race for "worst game construction kit ever". 001's motto is "MAKE GAMES. NO CODING." which should give you a hint about what we're looking at here. In this case even less effort has been made than just using a construction kit because this is an asset flip. The developer simply copied the output from this 5 part tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1wRKx8b_6k Then changed a few things around to assemble what looks like a godawfully bad RPG Maker asset flip, but with worse graphics, and without any RPG mechanisms. While this is free, and that's the only acceptable way to even think about dumping an asset flip on Steam, it's still an asset flip and should be avoided. There's no fullscreen mode, retro pixel "art" that was just copy+pasted from the tutorial/001 Game Engine, the list goes on. There's nothing original or of value to gamers here. The youtube tutorial the "developer" here ripped off is more entertaining.

Игра "The Informant Chronicles - Chronicle 1: Riverside Danger Part 1" - это многообещающее начало детективной серии. Графика, хоть и не передовая, создает нужную атмосферу мрачного американского городка. Сюжет затягивает с первых минут, предлагая игроку роль информатора, втянутого в опасную игру с местной мафией. Диалоги хорошо написаны и позволяют почувствовать цинизм и безысходность ситуации. Геймплей представляет собой классическую point-and-click адвенчуру, где нужно искать улики, допрашивать свидетелей и решать головоломки. Некоторые загадки кажутся немного нелогичными, но в целом процесс прохождения остается увлекательным. Первая часть оставляет много вопросов и заставляет ждать продолжения с нетерпением. Чувствуется потенциал для развития персонажей и углубления криминальной истории. Рекомендую любителям нуарных детективов и point-and-click игр.
