About The Lonely Helmet
In a galaxy far far away, there was a collection of helmets. Some were stronger than others, some were smaller and some were bigger, but all helmets had a purpose - to protect their space-human and allow them to breath outside of the Universe. The Lonely Helmet, a space-themed puzzle platformer, will have you jumping and sliding through levels after being tasked to find the human that was meant to be wearing you on their head outside the ISS.

A fun and silly game platformer game where you play as an astronaut helmet. Too bad the developer plans to delist it. I'd say even if it weren't going to receive updates and tech support going forward that the developer should still keep it available. It's a free game, I doubt anyone cares about how buggy it might be 40 years from now or whatever. Art is art and this game should not become lost media for such a trivial reason.3 found this helpful
"The Lonely Helmet" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is an incredibly badly done platformer where you take on the role of a helmet... because, I guess doing sprite animation is too hard for some developers or something. So yeah, you control a helmet jumping around (somehow) across 20 poorly done minimalist pixelcrap platformer levels. There's skins, which makes me wonder why the developer wasted time doing that instead of learning how to animate stuff. But asking too many questions about failed Itch garbage on Steam is hardly productive... it's self evident why this was such a failure. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The game crashes every few levels at the goal, and because of how the game saving works, that means you'll have to redo the entire level. Not only that, but the camera is horrendous. I can't believe i am saying that of a 2D game, but here be are. For a precision Platformer, this is inexcusable. And the hidden pressure blocks are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You already had a mechanic of pressing buttons, why did you switch it up in the middle of the game to a completely invisible, undetectable and intangible spot you need to not only reach, but stand on for a while before anything happens ?
