This story-rich cooking game is a continuation of sorts of the story in The Lost Legends of Redwall: The Scout. Reconnecting with characters I met in The Scout was one of my favourite parts of this game. Meeting the new characters was fun, too. I feel the story makes more sense if you've already played The Scout; however, it isn't strictly necessary. Not having played it beforehand will leave you not knowing what some of the characters are referencing, though, so be prepared for that. I was pleased to see my skills grow as I played the game. I've never played a cooking game like this before, so I don't have much context to compare it to. The controls are easy, and the plot and dialogue was of the quality I have come to expect from Soma in regards to their Redwall games. There were some bugs, but they didn't affect gameplay. This game was also relatively quick to get through; I finished it in about 3 to 4 hours. Most of the dialogue is not timed, which is good for slow readers like me. You have to click the screen to get to the next piece of dialogue. Overall, this is a fun game that I recommend, especially if you love Redwall. (Review edited to…

While I bought it because I am looking to support one of my favorite childhood series, this game is clearly geared for a younger audience. But even for someone older, like myself, I can say I enjoyed what I have played so far. I particularly enjoy the core concepts of cooking and how they are presented in a digestible manner for young learners. A great holiday gift if you want to help increase a loved one's steam library.

Cozy little game with Redwall's characters. The game has some visual bugs but nothing game-breaking.

Great for Redwall fans! I hate cooking in real life but this game makes it fun! It really is a low stress game, you can't really mess up even when you think you are doing bad (darn perfectionism). I do wish when you do really good that you got more gold but again this is a low stress game, can't really mess up. The recipes fit right in to the Redwall theme. Characters are cute, and you can skip the dialect if you want. Only trouble I've come across is that when retrieving the foragers, sometimes I have to click 3 or 4 times to be able to return them. I like playing one customer at a time and coming back a few times a week. Not a game that I'm going to sit down and play hours and hours on at one time, but that's ok.
